Sheela Chandra's Online Review Report Card

I think Sheela spent 10 minutes in the room with me before she came to her conclusion of simply giving me a prescription. First thing she said was young people need to manage their stress better. Well I never said I was stressed but ok. She then recommended I change my eating habits and see a dietitian WITHOUT asking me what I eat on a regular basis. When she prescribed the medication I simply asked are there any side affects? She responded by saying I’m not the kinda of Dr. that simply handout prescriptions. So my question was never answered. Because I was frequently visiting the bathroom I asked about a colonoscopy she advised me that the insurance would not pay for it because I was to young and that me taking the medication would help her better assess the issues I was having. Overall I entered the appointment feeling miserable with daily stomach pains that brings me to tears daily and I left feeling uncared for, unseen and hopeless as to where I go from here.

I’ve tried for 2 weeks to call and make an appointment. I have sat and waited for someone to answer and nobody will. Definitely can’t pick them as my doctor when they can’t answer the phone, especially since it’s a pattern. I would hate to have a concern as a patient and not be able to get through to anyone. Guess I’ll try somewhere else.

I was frustrated because the promised 6-8 weeks on proton pump inhibitors turned into 5+ years with no result. The medicines did not work for me. I kept expecting to be informed of other protocols. I finally called a surgeon myself to discuss the nisson fundoplication procedure. I am done taking these drugs and done being in excruciating pain. Hope surgery helps. I think Dr. Chandra is used to clients who get results from medication.

I've had GI issues on and off for years but really severe the last 5 years. I've been on 2 different ppi's, which haven't helped at all. I have followed the diet. I have reached out to this doctor so many times as my condition deteriorates and not getting anywhere. Surely there are other options. I currently am in so much pain it is ridiculous. If I last another month I hope to see somebody else. Really disappointed in the lack of regard here.

Dr Chandra was an excellent listener, thorough and took my symptoms seriously. She did not talk down to me or dismiss my concerns about procedures and risks associated with them. She was very knowledgeable and professional and had an excellent bedside manner. I feel that I am in good hands with her. Also, her nurse Brooke was EXCELLENT in every way. She was professional, promptly returned my calls and worked me in when she could. She was not only extremely professional but also down to earth, funny and compassionate. She actually looked me in the eyes when she spoke and was very genuine during our interaction. I am really impressed with this first experience at Kelsey-Seybold.

Open, honest, excellent "bedside manner". Very encouraging. Willing to spend time to work with the patient and in the patient's best interest.

Nobody likes to have a colonoscopy; some of us dread it more than others. Dr. Chandra was kind, professional, informative and I will definitely continue to use her as my gastroenterologist for follow up care.

Dr Chandra is very personable. She gives positive encouragement which makes visits with her a pleasure. She truly cares about her patients. I would recommend her to my family and friends if they should need a specialist like Dr Chandra.

Besides being extremely nice and easy to talk to, Dr Chandra is Very thorough in her approach of understanding the patients needs by listening to what we have to say. That goes for her nurses as well.
