List of Greatwood At Sugar Land's Reviews
I was very nervous about the prospect of my grandmother going into assisted living and I did a ton of research before deciding to give it a try. I had heard from people I trusted (our family doctor, dentist, etc..) that Greatwood at Sugar Land was the best in our area and that many of their patients were residents and all had great things to say about them so I gave them a call. Lisa Hill is the first person I spoke with (sales/marketing) and she was wonderful. She spent a lot of time with me on the phone and patiently answered all of my questions. It was at least 2-3 months just talking on the phone and she really put my mind at ease. After they determined that my grandma would be a good fit, we brought her to the property for a tour. The property is exceptionally clean, orderly and just has a good vibe - everyone we met was very pleasant. We decided to move forward and we moved my grandma in a couple of weeks later. I wasn't sure what to expect as far as how much care would be provided - I worried it wouldn't be enough for her but boy was I wrong! We installed cameras in my grandmothers room (which they encouraged, surprisingly) and night after night I watched and every single caregiver that interacted with my granny was so attentive and kind with her. Long story short, my grandmother absolutely LOVES it here. She loves her bingo three times a week, church on Sundays and all the other activities that they offer - (Rose, the events coordinator is awesome and is wonderful with the residents). She loves having some independence again and has made new friends. Hearing her tell me how happy she is, is like music to my ears. I thought it was important to write this review because I understand what a tough decision this is and if I can give anyone a little bit of reassurance then I want to do that - From our experience thus far, this really seems to be a quality facility with a staff that really seems to care about their residents. There are so many caregivers there that my grandma tells me "are her favorite" she says that about all of them! We just couldn't be more pleased!
A couple of months ago, I moved my parents into Greatwood at Sugar Land. I'm very pleased. The team there was patient with us as we gathered information and made a decision about the move. I visit my parents regularly and am always pleased with what I find. It's obvious the team at Greatwood cares for the residents. I'm grateful to have found a safe, friendly, and affordable place for my parents to live so close to home.

It was at least 2-3 months just talking on the phone and she really put my mind at ease. To be sure that my grandmother was appropriate for the facility, the head nurse, Traci, came to our home and spent a good 1-2 hours visiting with us and with my grandmother. She was awesome too - very down to earth and right away, we felt comfortable with her. After she determined that my grandma would be a good fit, we brought her to the property for a tour. The property is exceptionally clean, orderly and just has a good vibe - everyone we met was very pleasant. We met the Director, Kim, and she was very nice and super helpful as well and she answered all of our remaining questions - after meeting with her I knew that this was the place for my grandmother. We installed cameras in my grandmothers room (which they encouraged, surprisingly) and night after night I watched and every single caregiver that interacted with my granny was so attentive and kind with her. Tommy, the new move in coordinator, took my granny under his wing and introduced her to other residents and made sure that she was included in all the activities right out of the gate. Great place to live. Friendly community.
I recommend Greatwood because the people who work in the community make my mom feel at home. From the receptionist to the restaurant staff, the med aides, care staff, activities coordinator... they truly care and it shows by their actions. I feel grateful my mom can call Greatwood home 💕
Love hearing about all the activites that Debbie Hamilton helps to bring to her residents!
Socially my mom is thriving. When she shares her concerns over the lack of quality and quantity of the foods served I am so disheartened. The residents have starting taking pictures of the meager serving size and unappealing quality of the food. The concern has been brought to the attention of the Director but a resolution has not been obtained. The food is limited, not edible, and only available for a short period of time, i.e, 4-6 for dinner. We are now buying mom food which something my siblings and I had not anticipated. Making sure my mom was safe and eating regularly was the driving decision when we selected this facility. One month in and thousands of dollars spent we are willing and ready to relocate her. It is really sad that such a beautiful facility is lacking with a basic need that could be resolved.
My father has been here for almost two months and it's going really well. He's made some friends which makes me happy. Definitely take a look. I checked out a number of Assisted Living places and Greatwood was the best. Good luck in your search.
Great place but need alot of help in the cafeteria area. They do not have enough help and we have residence that have been sitting waiting for nearly 35 minutes and waiting. Poor residence it's really irritating watching this and not able to help. My mother in law is here and this place is great but they need help please.
If you're looking for a place to call 'Home' for yourself or a loved one, you MUST check out Greatwood at Sugarland! The Assisted Living Manager, Garret Kiger, is a wonderful, caring and passionate person that will bend over backwards for anyone! He is attentive to needs, ALWAYS does what he says and has a smile planted on his face 100% of the time! I highly recommend Garret and the team at Greatwood! If you don't believe me, stop by and check it out yourself! I'll bet he's got a smile on his face and your loved one will too!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
