Dr. Sonabend is THE BEST Dermatologist in Houston area. I had severe acne on my face for 18 years. I saw a number of specialists in Houston (Beechnut Professional Building and near HCA Houston Healthcare West) during this time. I was treated with all sorts of medicines, lotions, creams but could not get rid off the acne. I got to a point where I had lost all the faith in the dermatologists and didn't do anything for several years until my family physician referred to Dr. Sonabend. During my first visit with him, I provided him with a list of all the medicines, lotions, etc. that I had taken during the last 18 years. He went through the list and said that this is no way to treat acne of this severity. He performed tests on me and pinpointed the root cause. I started using the items that contained these chemicals. That was 7 years ago. Since then I have not experienced any severe cases of acne.

Wonderful. Great communication. Removed several growths with almost no scarring. Best dermatologist I’ve found. I’m so glad he’s my doctor.

Let me preface this by saying that I work in hospital quality where we evaluate patient satisfaction scores, quality of service of the provider and safety and quality of the care. I was not impressed with the staff performance at this clinic. I found the staff to be impatient, unfriendly, and uncaring. The wait time was minimal. I saw Dr. Sonabend in a timely manner, his treatment and education of my problem was thorough. His manner is a bit robotic, not warm, but he makes up for the lack of bedside manner with his depth of knowledge and excellent skill proficiency. After the visit now I have been attempting to speak with the office staff about my bill. I have called and left messages 3 times. It has been one month since my first phone call. I am tired of waiting for their response. The office staff is quite inadequate and, well, rude. For this reason I will not return to Dr. Sonabend's office for my dermatology care. If you are looking for a high quality service provider, I cannot recommend this clinic.
