Because of pain in my right hip for several years, I had decided on an appointment with Dr. Thompson. I chose him because my wife had used him a few years back for a knee issue and we both liked his no nonsense approach and bedside manner. After checking x-rays of my hip, he stated that it wasn't a matter of if for a total replacement, but when because of osteoarthritis. He presented me with three options at the time which were meds, a shot or schedule replacement surgery. I chose a shot for relief and time to consider surgery. A few months later after a second shot, I decided to schedule my surgery. My outpatient anterior approach surgery which he performed took about 70 minutes, and I was home a few hours later. Having researched the anterior approach surgery through countless YouTube videos, this was the only one I was gonna get and on the 21st day after my replacement, I walked my first mile. He, his team and procedure are highly recommended, stretch daily and walk,walk,walk

Very thorough in explaining surgery and very kind. I knew what to expect and was just as explained to me. Dr Thompson even called the night after surgery and asked how I was feeling and if there were any problems or questions! I would definitely recommend him!!

Dr. Thompson performed a reverse shoulder replacement due to old rotator cuff tear years ago that I had not known I had done. The surgery went well and the pre/post op nurses were super. No post op pain was a real plus and started physical therapy the next day for a month, then to Hope.AR hospital for continuing therapy which is going well. I am making real progress and the outlook is good. Dr. Thompson is pleased with my progress and working the PT at home everyday is essential to getting good results. It does not take that long twice a day. I would recommend Dr. Douglas Thompson to anyone seeking a good surgeon with a great support staff. Thanks Doc!
