This man is a God send to this community! If not for him my daughter Crystal would have died. She was born with Aortic Stenosis we monitored her heart closely growing up and she even had to have a stent placed in the back side of her aorta 20 years ago. She should have had surgery to replace her aorta valve back then but was too afraid to do so. In November 2020 she was hospitalized for gall bladder surgery and she never felt well afterwards.She was really short of breath all the time. She was admitted back to the hospital where Dr. Hoang was called in to evaluate her heart condition.He informed her she had developed an aneurism in her aorta and would need surgery if she wanted to live. He not only corrected the aneurism but also gave her an artificial valve replacement for the aortic stenosis.After the surgery he had a hard time getting her off of the machines to restart her heart and lungs to operate on their own. He never gave up! What should have been a 4 hour surgery turned into an all day procedure because he refused to let her die. He finally got her stable enough to go to ICU but let us know it was in God's hands if she made it through the night! He and his whole surgical team prayed for her as all her family and friends did. It was touch and go for 9 days when on Christmas Eve she finally was able to wake up and come off of the vent. She is doing great now all Thanks to Dr. Hoang's refusal to give up on her!!! So if you have to have heart surgery he is the man for the job. He is compassionate and he cares for his patients! Thank you so very much Dr. Hoang & your surgical team and to CVICU nurses at St. Michaels you took excellent care of my daughter which allowed her to live and be here for her first grandchild born on April 1, 2021. If not for all of you and all the prayers and God she would not be here today. Eternally Grateful to all!!! God Bless YOU!!!!

Dr. Hoang performed triple bypass surgery on my mom April 19th. Her and my family just cannot express how much we appreciated what he did for her. He is by far the best Thoracic and Heart surgeon and goes above and beyond to care for his patients. I live in Tyler and should I ever have to have anything done, I will be coming to see him. He has an incredible story about how his career all started. Christus is so lucky to have him on staff. He visited her every single day while she was still in the hospital. Excellent bedside manner........Terrific doctor

Dr Hoang’s knowledge and compassion set us at ease. Undergoing 5 bypasses during heart surgery there was comfort knowing Dr Hoang was our surgeon. He is finely skilled and very patient-oriented. He took the time to explain the steps and procedures he would take to address specific heart issues. He checked on me following the surgery multiple times the day of surgery and thereafter. He was thoughtful in addressing family member questions & concerns. Never did we feel he was rushed. He spent quality time with patient and family. It seemed from the beginning he thoroughly understood the plan of action he would take and the surgery went exactly as he expected. We highly recommend Dr Hoang. We feel blessed that when this time came, God set the course for Dr Hoang to be our surgeon.

Dr Thomas Hoang performed my surgery in January 2014, I could not have asked for a better surgeon. Dr Hoang explains all the options, takes his time, is extremely pleasant, and an excellent surgeon. Thank you so much Dr Hoang for saving my life!
