List of Peter M. Shedden's Reviews
Dr. Shedden has terrible bedside manners. He does not listen to what his patient's are trying to tell him. He is rude and he miss treats elderly patient's. He did several surgery's on my mom and not sure what he did made her worse. very disappoint in the man. I would never recommend him to anyone. Well my mother was seen by a spine specialist this week and had some 3 dimensional images done, the images show her spine has collapsed. No wonder she is in so much pain. Peter Shedden perform very poorly on my mother and has left her in a life threatening condition to have to face another back surgery because of Sheddens negligence. He need to stop practicing he is awful! The specialist stated that what he is seeing is a clowns work!
He has done brain surgery on my daughter and saved her life.He treated us with compassion. He is great what he does. After her surgery her vision came back. She woke up with a big smile on her face.Headaches was gone. She had a massive tumor and cyst under brain that grew into her optic nerve and pituitary gland. He did a great job.Thank You Sir
I would not recommend this surgeon or his staff. When I first saw Dr Shedden he was pleasant and very concerning. His assistant was not helpful and she was very condescending! I had surgery for stenosis of my back. The reason I had the surgery was because my leg was falling asleep. After my surgery, I called to have a prescription refilled which was gabapentin. This medication is not a controlled substance. His staff never returned my phone call when I went in for my check up I mentioned to Dr. Shedden that his staff never returned my phone calls. He immediately started yelling at me, telling me that he was under investigation with the FBI for stolen prescription pads for controlled substance. This has nothing to do with me. All I needed was my gabapentin to make me feel better. Now it's been several years since my surgery and my back is much worse than it was before I can no longer stand any length of time or walk for any length of time I'm constantly in excruciating pain. In my opinion, this doctor does not care about his patients. I would never let him operate on my back again.
BEWARE THIS SURGEON!! He performs unnecessary surgeries and then abandons patients and refuses to see them! I almost DIED several times bc of him!! I WISH I could post a picture of the unnecessary slice he cut open my brain with that he didn't need to do! Not only that he didn't even remove the tumor and I needed repeat surgery that was done correctly through my nose to actually remove the tumor!!! He is HORRIBLE!! The Baylor pituitary clinic even has other patients he did the same too and they said BEWARE!!! HE IS HORRIBLE!
22 years and 9 very difficult spine surgeries and I am still walking around, gardening and living a generally good life. Other surgeons refused to even take my case. Everyone take a slow breath and realize his line of work involves a lot of emergency care. Be glad you are not in that situation like me one time with only minutes to live. His skills are excellent and his humanity shows when you need it the most.
ZERO STARS!!!! Appointment at 10am. Waited until 11:30am (took a 20-30minue nap) before inquiring and was told chart was being checked to see place in line. Went back to inquire at 11:45am, and was told I was second in place to be seen (scripted since they told the same thing to another patient who inquired about the wait and who was the same skin color as me), but yet other patients that came after me we're seen first. Another patient that came after me was a friend of one of the receptionist and he was given preference, he didn't even wait 15minutes and was seen first. I guess is who you know at this place that will get you VIP treatment. It also seems that your skin color will determine the type of service that you will receive, if any...
I cannot be more grateful with Dr. Shedden, he is amazing, kind and honest. I was in the worst pain and about to put my self in a very risk surgery that I did not need. I am free pain thanks to him.
I had 7 previous back surgeries by Orthopedic Doctors. I had no success with any of them. I finally was referred to Dr Shedden and after two surgeries I could not believe the results I received. I am a Firefighter / Paramedic and was able to return to work. This Doctor is a Bless Caring Man...
He works very hard and does a great job on his surgeries. He is also a godly man and I respect that.
Dr Sheddin operated on my mom’s back and came in the next day to tell us he did the surgery on the wrong part! He took no ownership and completely blamed the x-ray tech for putting the x-ray upside down! My parents agreed to let him re-do the surgery a few days later. The day after my mom was discharged she was experiencing alarming symptoms. Sheddins office had no after hours number or “on call” dr. We ended up calling the icu where my mom had been at St. Luke’s and his PA happened to be there. We asked to talk to her and she said she wouldn’t talk to us because my mom was discharged from Sheddin. If we were worried take her to the ER. We ended up calling an ambulance to take her back to St. Luke’s where we discovered my mom had bacterial meningitis from Sheddin cutting the spinal dura during the second surgery that only occurred due to his negligence! My mom spent weeks in icu and months recovering in a rehab hospital. Sheddin is arrogant and negligent. We lost precious hours due to his office not having after hours care and we almost lost my mom. Stay away from him!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
