D. Brent Kerns's Online Review Report Card

I would NOT recommend Dr. Kerns to ANYONE! I was scheduled for a new patient consultation and waited for over an hour past my scheduled appt. time. No one ever came in to let me know he was running late or when he would be in so I finally let his staff know that I had to leave because I had another appt. that I had to get to. They asked if I wanted to reschedule my appt. and I told them that I would have to see when I could take off work again. Someone from his office called me a couple days later to see about rescheduling and I agreed to reschedule for 1/5/2021 at 10:30am-as she said that wasn't normally a busy time and I should be able to get in and out. I arrived at my appt. on time and was called back fairly promptly. His MA or Nurse was very nice! I waited over 30 minutes for him to walk in the room and say "Hi, I'm Dr. Kerns. What do you need?" He was in the room a total of MAYBE five minutes if that and was extremely rude!

He wanted me to have an ultrasound done but didn't want to do it there in his office today so he is going to have someone call me to schedule it another day and he will call me with my results. I'm not going to take off work another day and waste anymore time with him! I will be seeing another surgeon! I don't know if he was just pissed because I didn't wait around for him last time or what but I've never had a Dr. be so rude!

Dr Kerns did a total thyroidectomy in January 2017. Dr Kerns and Leslie Kerns are two of the absolute best! He is very competent and professional in addition to being an excellent surgeon. I barely have a scar and would go back if I had any other surgical needs in the future.

This surgeon literly saved my life in an emergency surgery, he acted fast and done what he does best.

Very helpful pleasant to talk with and performed a great surgery!! Would go to him again if needed!!

His care and dedication to his patients is excellent. Would have lost my father if it hadn't been for his excellent thorough care.

Some of the rudest office staff I have ever dealt with. If I could give zero stars I would!!

He did a wonderful job on my caratoid artery surgery, almost one year later and the scar is barely visible, I feel great, would trust him with my life.

I had my gallbladder out and he did an outstanding job as well as ETMC. I would use him again.

I expected Dr. Kerns to be excellent because of the reference that I received. I was wrong. Dr. Kerns was late, hurried, irritated when asked questions. Frankly, that did not bother me...all I cared about was having the best surgeon operate on me, I don't care about bedside manner. When I awakened after surgery (I have had several operations), I knew something was wrong. Without going into detail, the surgery was not at all what I was told it would be; the incisions and severity of the wounds were much more extensive. Frankly, there is too much to elaborate on. Let's just say, I will never go back or recommend him. I will never put him down or say his name publicly to hurt him, only in this one open forum, shall I express my view; please be very thorough on your questions and expectations. He is considered an excellent surgeon, and perhaps, I was just the one in a 1,000.
