Dr. Scruggs is a wonderful caring doctor. He takes time with his patients and is professional, thorough, caring and very knowledgeable in his field. I recommend him and will continue seeing him.

Dr. Scruggs has been my mom's cardiologist for several years. I am one of 10 kids, with several working in the medical field, and none of us have ever had any reason to question Dr. Scruggs' level of care. His professionalism coupled with his likeable personality always puts my mom at ease. He listens to all concerns and questions we have and always explains himself fully. He explains everything to my mom (she is 87), in terms she understands, and doesn't stop until she understands what's going on. After we told him she sometimes hears what she wants to, he now makes her repeat what he told her to make sure they are on the same page. His office staff is always friendly and professional. I, and any of my siblings, would have absolutely no problem recommending him unconditionally to anyone seeking cardiac care.

Terrible! If I could rate him with a negative star I would. I saw him after I was rushed to the hospital. He does not listen and does not know the answers to questions when the patient is very knowledgeable. I question his ability to care for and treat a patient with a complicated cardiac history and especially one with an adult CHD that has not been repaired. He refused to listen and after being transported to San Antonio to a multi-level cardiology practice and hospital, what I thought to be my problem was correct and his diagnosis was completely wrong!

He is personable, however, most important he is to the point, knowledgeable and very through in explaining the surgical procedure.

Dr. Scruggs was my father's doctor. My father was in very bad health and decided he was going to have an angioplasty done on his leg. He knew the risks but said life was not worth living the way he was. His arteries were very calcified. It took dr. Scruggs 7 hours of working on my dad and then my dad went into arrest on the table. He was gone for 12 minutes but dr. Scruggs brought him back. Dr. Scruggs was very professional and knows what he's doing. I would recommend him to anybody.
