Detar Hospital North's Online Review Report Card

The ER, absolutely unacceptable wait time! After waiting for 3 hours in the front I saw 5 different people get up and walk out. A couple including Moms with small children. I understand you can’t expect to be in and out of an ER but to take that long is just wrong!! People are obviously there due to illness and I can promise you they do not want to sit and wait for hours! Either find some quicker employees or hire more to accommodate your ER!!!! I have never in my life had to wait like that! SMH

The birth center is great. Everyone is so kind and patient. L&D nurse Nicole was especially amazing as was my Anesthesiologist Sarah. I love the entire team here. These ladies are angels.

I had to rush a family member to the ER this week and Detar North was the closest location. I must start by saying that almost everyone who we dealt with during this stressful day was great, except for one check-in person, whose name, I believe, was Veronica (although unsurprisingly, she wasn't wearing her badge where it could be read easily. Maybe she knows already she isn't fit for a job with people?)Basically, although Kim, the other woman who worked at the check-in/check-out desk that day, managed to be kind yet efficient, the dark-haired check-in person was unbelievably rude. She honestly seemed annoyed from the second I sat in front of her, as if my family member and I were wasting her time. She then barely listened to my answers and got immediately snappy and even sarcastic when I answered a question incorrectly. Fortunately, since she seemed in such a hurry to not talk to me or get my correct information, I didn't have to deal with her for long.I want to reiterate that all of the medical staff and the other front desk person were wonderful and had a great way with people. I only hope the nasty check-in person we had to deal with doesn't regularly add to the stress of patients and their families.

Nicu nurses and on call doc don’t seem to care about the babies . My nephew has had jaundice for Almost 3 days and I told the nurses he looked jaundice and they responded with “ it’s normal” on the 3rd day he was as yellow as a banana. And they still can’t get his sugar up and the doc refuses to have him transferred to Driscoll children’s hospital in corpus and refuses to discharge him so I can take him personally they are not taking care of him like he needs to be then after feedings they lay him on his back and when he throws up he chokes on it they refuse to let him lay upright smh !

I had my baby here 3 years ago, and this hospital just popped up in my memories so I decided to add to the reviews. He was my fifth child and the others were born at other hospitals, and none of those hospitals compare to this one. I loved that they offer a tour beforehand, and they have private rooms (the big cities tend to make you share a room during recovery or make you pay extra up front for privacy) and when I had my other kids, I would stay in the hospital for at least 3 days, so when I had this last baby and they told me I would go home the following day, I had a LOT of anxiety about that. But when the next day came, they had taken such good care of my baby and I that I felt okay leaving, they really helped quell the anxiousness and the food was delicious! The nurses were about the kindest and most patient nurses I had ever encountered and to say I was satisfied would be an understatement, it's been this long and I still remember how much I enjoyed my time there. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone in the area who needs care.

Absolutely amazing care here

I had a very positive experience, from the check-in downstairs to the entrance on 2nd floor. I got off the elevator and was greeted by friendly nurses. Ever aspect was positive from culinary to Janitorial.
