Do not go to this dr.
Great experience. Friendly professional staff.
This Doctor and his practice are a joke. I guess unless you have private insurance or money to pay out of pocket, Dr. Followell and his practice does not have the time to service you. We are very dissatisfied and dissapointed of the service (if you want to call that) that him and his "lovely" front desk staff provided. It's a shame indeed. My wife suffered an injury to her knee and was referred to his practice by her PCP, well all he did was receive the results from an MRI and then "refer" my wife to MD Anderson (something about an unknown growth noted behind her knee and that there was nothing he could do... oh he mentioned tomy wife that he hoped she had a strong support system) its been hell since October of last year not knowing if it's Cancer or just an injury!! , funny thing is that this occurred back in October of 2022, its now mid March and we are still waiting for the referral (contacted MD Anderson directly and they never received any referral from him or his practice). Seriously, go to Houston or San Antonio if you need Ortho Services.
DARS, STATE DISABILITY AND REHAB, SENT me to him for left shoulder pain in 2015 i think it was. Dr. Followill ordered a MRI AND SAID I HAD A PARTIAL TEAR OF LEFT ROTATOR CUFF. Sent me to physical therapy for 2 rounds of therapy. After which i returned to see him and told him it was worse not better. He said he would enhance the MRI and see if it showed any thing that non enhanced view did. He came back in to exam room and told me i had a complete full tear and a partial secondary tear that needed immediate surgery which i had 3 days later. The surgery has about 75% fixed my left shoulder. I gave him 2 stars because it took over a year to get correct diagnosis and to have the surgery to fix it. While this process was going on he refused to prescribe me any real pain medication even though i complained about severe pain every time i saw him during that 1+ year from first visit to the surgery. He prescribed nsaids for pain which made me sick and throw up 3 hrs after taking it. When i called him about this he gave me 2 more nsaid scripts of which i trued one and git sick from it as well and i did not fill the third one since first two nsaids made me sick and when i called about third script he said that was all he would give me. I even begged him to give me 1 real pain medication a fay so i could sleep at night. I almost ended up divorced over not being able to sleep in same room as my wife due to me keeping her awake every night with my pain issues and ended up having to sleep in separate rooms so she could sleep. After enhancing MRI and finding all the damage in my shoulder he apologized for not giving me real pain medicine for my pain but he thought i was pill shopping because he did not see all damage before he enhanced the MRI. So i suffered through 2 rounds of therapy and over a year of pain before getting it fixed. If it was my choice i would have gotten another DR but because DARS , State of Texas, was paying for it i did not have that option. I would not recommend this dr to work on my pets let alone a human he is cold and uncaring in his attitude if he thinks you are there for pain pills and does not listen to you when you plead for pain meds so you can sleep at night. He assumed i was a pill junkie and refused to listen to my complaints of severe pain until he saw that i had severe damage to shoulder when he enhanced the MRI THEN SAID OOPS SORRY ABOUT THAT. After i suffered for over a year in pain. Find a real DR with compassion is all I have to say.
Had shoulder pain and saw Followwill. Had mri done and was told nothing was wrong. Went to Houston to get another opinion after 3 months still in pain. Have a torn labrum. Would advise going to Houston
I was misdiagnosed! Saw his NP in July and told I had small tears in Pectoralis Major. Pain got worse. I came back and saw the Dr a couple of months later and he ordered MRI. He disagreed with the findings of the MRI and told me I had torn Pectoralis Major muscle and could have surgery. Got a second opinion and another surgeon ordered MRI of shoulder with contrast that showed torn rotator cuff (supraspinatus). Second surgeon also ordered medication and pain injection that dropped my pain to a 1 from an 8. Now scheduled for surgery with second surgeon.
Dr Followwill is the best, He fix my shoulder, my husband shoulder and my husband knee, very good job and great experience with him .He is a great Orthopedic Surgery in Victoria Tx. Highlily recommended ??
Lack of follow through, arrogant and terrible bedside manner, would not refer to him.
I wanted to take a few moments and express my gratitude for the high degree of professionalism, assistance and medical care Dr. Followwill and his medical staff (especially Nurse Kelly) have given me while addressing my latest medical issue of total knee replacement. During the past several months, you and your medical staff and have really shined, in my opinion. You and your medical staff have been not only polite and professional but displayed a truly caring persona which made coping with my latest medical issue much easier.
I am very happy with my knee surgery. Going to have the other one done soon. Dr. Followill is great!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
