Had a fistula surgery in 2020 from this doctor. It came back so I decided to have another doctor repair me the second time. During the second surgery they found leftover sutures in me that he left inside that most likely caused my issue to come back. The pain after surgery was more painful as well the first time. I would not recommend this surgeon.

Dr Kandel is absolutely amazing! I researched him as I wanted to switch colorectal surgeons, and from the first visit with Dr Kandel I knew I was in great hands and felt confident he’d be able to help me. He was very detailed, knowledgeable, attentive and empathetic. He is very thorough and explains everything in detail from surgery to recovery expectations. Dr Kandel completed 2 surgeries on me and they went so well. His bedside manner is also amazing as he listens and also answers every question thoroughly. I’d recommend Dr Kandel to anyone! He has really turned my life around after being so discouraged! I’m grateful I found him!!

Diagnosed with stage 2 colorectal cancer in December of 2021. Cancer free diagnosis by March of 2022. Dr Kandel was aggressive in regards to a treatment plan of action. He understands that time is of the essence and laid out a plan for success and I couldn’t be more happy with the results. Knowledgeable staff and very helpful- even with my insurance needs and questions. They took the worrying out of it and I just followed directions. I’m back to work and on with my life and a better father than ever!

Dr. Kandel was courteous and professionally completed my surgery last month. Out of my 4 previous surgery’s, he was the first one to be concerned about how Inwas doing after the procedure. He constantly checked on pain level and comfort. I sincerely appreciated his concern.

Both my husband and myself required surgery (for different reasons, but the same type of surgery) within the last 6 months. I can't say how wonderful Dr. Kandel and his office staff were during these trying times. He is professional, kind, attentive and knowledgeable. We have both recovered from our surgeries with no complications. I would recommend him to anyone who needs the kind of services he provides

Dr. Kandel, MD is a great doctor! He's very understanding and listened to my concerns. He ask if I had any questions throughout our conversations. He made sure I understood my health issues and the surgery process. He really made me feel at ease throughout the entire process. His office staff was very friendly. Dr. Kandel absolutely changed my day to day life. He is very informative and caring. I was having severe abdominal pain for several weeks and was having changes in my bowl movements. After going to the ER twice with abdominal pain and those doctors just giving me antibiotics I was finally referred to Dr. Kandel. He scheduled a colonoscpy and during the procedure found he was unable to proceed with the colonoscpy due to some type of blockage. He then sent me to Methodist Central to have a barium enima done. At that time he advised me that I have some sort of blockage and would need to have surgery. He scheduled my surgery and found several things that were causing my pain. I had twisted colon, a hernia that he repaired, adhesions that had to be burned and removed, divertocultous, and removed 6 inches of my colon and reconnected. Most doctors do not seem to take much time to speak to their patients but Dr. Kandel does. He is a very thorough listener and explains everything thoroughly as well. He has a very kind spirit about him. He has truly made a difference in my day to day life. Thankful for him and his staff for being so caring and professional.
