Jonpaul Harmer's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Harmer and his staff have always been great to me and the treatments have been wonderful. The injections always work and they listen to my pain problems.

Not responsive. Does not return calls. Does not notify you of post treatment procedures. I'm basically crippled now after multiple injections. In the process of switching pain management Dr's. Staff is crude and rude.

Fired him some years ago for his non-management of my wheelchair bound Mother's chronic pain. Especially in her back, that we were told was ruptured discs and cracked vertebra. Plus a constant headache, with migraines. In the first visits he held out glowing hopes of treatments. But then never explained why he didn't carry through. It ended with him only giving Mother prescription Naproxin Sodium, available over the counter. To fill a prescription, I had to be at his office at a certain time of day to get it handed through a window. I had to take off work once a month to meet that time. So as a result of his non-treatment for her chronic pain, I fired him. It took one more Weatherford doctor before I found a doctor in Fort Worth that actually treated her with a combination of therapy and adequate medications, which was not narcotics or ineffective over the counter drugs. Maybe he got better. Let's hope so.

Dreadful staff with poorly education, visually hideous and morally bankrupt staff - especially a liar name Amy Berkner. This retched hag of a human-being lies and proclaims she is a nurse, but the truth is she is a failure! She has a high school education (barely) and a certificate from an unaccredited school that permits her to take temperature and count pills. Her bitter personality forces her to insult coworkers and patients to self-validate, but everyone just laughs behind her back. Check the Texas Medical Board,because the online complaints against this facility are numerous.

Nothing nice to say about the people at this practice. I'd advise anyone considering a visit to Lone Star Pain Management or JonPaul Harmer to strongly reconsider! Take a few moments to contact the Texas Medical Board and review the hundreds of complaints logged against this clown and his legion of morons. If you go her, you will regret it. Read the reviews and do some research.

Call the Texas Medical Board prior to visiting this "physician." There is a very good reason the reviews for this doctor and his practice are at rock-bottom. He is an arrogant ogre with a herd of uneducated trash for staff-members. One employee, Amy Berkner, lies and states she is a nurse, but she barely escaped high school and has no real education beyond that. (She may have a 2-week certificate in medical assisting at an unaccredited diploma mill, but it can't be verified.) Staff, with few exceptions, is absolute poor white trash with bad attitudes. Many former patients wonder if some sort of sexual relationship exists between the physician and the staff, as that is the only explanation as to why such monkeys would be retained.

That said, her treatment was nearly useless. The office was unresponsive, and she was left with pain that brought her to tears daily. All of this was related to Dr. Harmer by letter and over the phone to his office manager, for whom we were quite obviously just a number as well.. He took weeks to respond and in fact had someone do it for him. His message was basically, "Get lost, you are a nuisance. " Never have encountered a more uncaring, arrogant and insensitive medical professional. He seems to be motivated by money alone, and cares little for his patients beyond that. I have held on to this for over 2 years, but he is continuing his boorish, rude behavior. I went to him for a day surgery (which he had already performed on me 2 times, and it went well). I and one other lady, had iv's started while we waited our turn, slowly the day surgery room emptied out and we were the only two left. I would ask someone how much longer, my daughter asked if she could go and come back, because he was nowhere to be seen. We were given excuses, 'he had an emergency in the office', there was a meeting. Some were honest, and said they didn't know. When Dr. Harmer showed up over 2 and a half hours later, he gave me another excuse, and I told him he was lying. The surgery was rescheduled, but then I was told I had to have an appointment BEFORE they could reschedule me, so I said fine. I went into the office, and his PA came in to see me (nothing unusual, that is usually how it was, and that did not bother me). His PA told me that Dr. Harmer REFUSED to see me any more, UNLESS I APOLOGIZED, but I COULD see the PA for medication refills. I refused to apologize. I would be glad to speak to him, and discuss both sides, but he owed me an explanation. I refused to see him even though I still had (have back problems). I went to physical therapy, and find myself at a new doctor needing a letter of dismissal. The office told my new doctor, and me that I would have to go to the office to get the letter of dismissal. I called, I got my medical records released, and was told the office manager would call to explain the letter of dismissal and when to come in. I said I would call back Friday (this was Wednesday) if I hadn't heard. I called 2-3 times on Friday, and twice today. They told me today, they had mailed a certified letter to me on the 9th (without verifying address, and the address IS an old address). They would not explain why the letter was not mailed two years ago when Dr. Harmer dismissed me, why they didn't tell my new doctor that, why they didn't return the phone calls, and then because I was upset and demanded to speak to Dr. Harmer, they told me no, we have been going around and around, and I could not speak to him, they then cut me off and said they were going to hang up. I said let me finish my one sentence, and then I would hang up. They said no and hung up. I still don't have anything resolved (except I no longer have to see him), but why give a patient (especially in pain) the run around? Why refuse to send a letter to a new doctor, when the patient says they want a letter of dismissal? Why refuse to speak to a patient to discuss issues instead of sending in a PA? Most importantly, why agree to let the PA see the patient to get refills on medication, but not for treatment? I am not a drug addict. I rarely take pain medication; I use heating pads, exercise, rest, etc. FIRST. You, DR. HARMER are a disgrace to doctors, and you need to rethink your ego before you harm someone.

Professional office staff, but incredibly unprofessional clinical staff. Im a Veteran and I signed on the dotted line to give my life to protect all Americans, including Dr. Harmer and he only gave me a couple of minutes of his time and depended on his assistant to discuss my healthcare, even after i indicated i needed and wanted to talk to the person who prescribes my treatment, the doctor. I made a 3rd appointment to have three opportunity to speak with the tasting doctor and all they did was put me in an exam room and made me sit in a cold room for over an hour and finally told ne that the doctor was in surgery and was unable to tell me when he would be available. I ended up leaving and I'll never return!
