Mallika Kamana, Md's Online Review Report Card

BEWARE OF THIS DR! I am finally at a point after finishing treatment that I can post. I am 2 years in remission from Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I saw Dr. Kamana in 2020 when I was getting treatment for an infection. Several weeks after receiving antibiotics for this infection, it didn’t seem to be improving much so she ordered a chest CT scan late 2020. I had a follow up with her and she never mentioned anything coming of the CT but sent me on to another Dr in the building to do a biopsy of this spot on my breast. I then was taken off antibiotics and moved to this other Dr for treatment for granulomatous mastitis. In August 2021 I started getting cold like symptoms. I was on high dose steroids from the other dr and had just tapered fully off. What I didn’t realize was those steroids set things off like a catalyst. They had suppressed my immune system and the lymphoma symptoms had stayed at bay until I came off. I truly believe this mastitis was also happening because the lymphoma was attacking my body. I had lymph nodes swell up in my neck and started having chest pain after coming off the steroids. In Feb 2022 I was sent to an ENT and received another CT scan. After getting a CT scan done it showed I had a large mass in my chest. I was in literal shock because I had just had one done the year prior. I called to get a copy of the CT from Dr. Kamana’s office because it was never uploaded to my chart. I ended up having to go up to the office to get a copy and to say I was shocked was the least of it. I believe Dr. Kamana never read the CT scan at all and if she did, she failed her patient! The radiologist clearly noted the mass-at the time there was no lymph node involvement seen and he said it was likely lymphoma or thymoma and needed following up. Well guess what, I had NO idea because Dr. Kamana does not follow up properly on her patients. Many times I was waiting for her to arrive because she hadn’t even gotten to the office yet for my appointment. Please do not use her and if you are, please please check things are being looked at. I was naive and assumed she was doing her job and she almost cost me my life. By the time I started treatment for STAGE 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma I was super sick and had a grueling 6 months of chemo and immunotherapy including a bone marrow biopsy. Ever had one of those? It’s not pleasant to say the least. Had she let me Know about the CT scan my treatment plan would have been different.

I've been a patient of Dr.Kamana approximately 25 years,at one point I became deathly ill, had it NOT been for Dr.Kamana I would have surely passed away,I will FOREVER be grateful for "MY" DR.K, and would not hesitate to recommend her and her staff to care for any family member or friend or anybody .

I’m really not sure how the doctor is because I only saw her a couple of times while I was heavily medicated in the hospital. However, I have been trying to get a follow up since I left the hospital and I have been rescheduled five (5) times. The doctor might be good but the office team couldn’t find their head with both hands.

I’m so happy to have found Dr Kamana! She literally did what no other physician had been able to accomplish! Their infusion center was a huge timesaver too! If you need an infectious disease physician, this is the one! She’s very personable, while hopping on the problem “STAT” and her staff really gets the job done!

Mallika Kamana, MD is very professional and caring.

I was in the hospital, Kamana came in and took over. Made sure the Drs got stuff done. It was a great relief to see her face and know she was there. One of the best Drs around. Highly recommend.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Kamana, for about a year now. She really has a heart for her patience and wants the best for them. I would recommend her as a specialist for infectious diseases to anyone.

Worst dr experience I have ever encountered. They changed my appointment for the next day at 3pm and when I arrived they swore I was supposed to be there at 2:30 and said I must reschedule for the next week. I have been battling sepsis and absolutely had to get my test results to see if I needed to continue my treatment. My son, who was there with me, tried to advocate for me and they called the police and trespassed him from the premises. And my son wasn't the only patient they trespassed. The man who came in directly after me was also criminally trespassed. I strongly suggest that nobody go to this horrible Dr's office. Your life could be in danger if you do!

If you ever need an infectious disease doctor, Mallika Kamana is the best. Great doctor. Staff friendly and helpful. Laura Burke
