Gushyalatha Latha Boya's Online Review Report Card

I wish I had never met Dr. Boya. My life was ruined under her care. Over a year ago now she prescribed a dangerous fluoroquinolone antibiotic for a minor uncomplicated chronic infection. She ignored my history of antibiotic reactions and never warned me about the dangers of the drug. I had to read the warning label myself, and initially I didn't take the drug because of it. When I finally did take the drug, I expected the worst that could happen would be that I'd get Achilles tendonitis that would resolve in six months. Never did I expect to get tendonopathy throughout my entire body along with neuropathy and dozens of other symptoms that would turn out to be chronic. After the reaction, she could have done the right thing and tried to help me. Instead, I became a problem she wished would just go away. She rushed our appointments and played down my situation. She denied the pounding pulse (visible in my neck) that everyone else but her could see. A year later, I live with chronic pain. I had to quit my job and move back in with my elderly parents. Now I'm draining their retirement savings. I was a long distance backpacker and competitive volleyball player before all this, and now I can't walk on sand because the tendons in my feet feel like they're going to rip apart with every step. I've had new health issues develop (hypopituitarism, gastrointestinal disease, and GAD). I had a happy life, and now it is mostly despair. Please think twice before you trust yourself to someone who is incompetent and could care less about what happens to you.

She is very sweet and spent the time to listen and answer my questions. She gave me suggestions on next steps that I should be doing for my health.
