List of Urology Austin's Reviews
I have tried to call this office over 50 times in the last 3 weeks and they have never once been able to answer the phone. They’re unreachable. It’s extremely unprofessional as they are a doctors office and have patients with urgent questions. Not ok.
I like this place but the call center being the only means of communication with the office about prescriptions is extremely frustrating.
Dr. Giesler and staff are great but they do not answer the phone, and do not respond to messages. :(
When I arrived at the office, I had a brief check in, and was taken back to the room where Dr Sundarum was waiting for me. He placed the fiducials and inserted the spacing gel in preparation for my prostate radiation. The procedure sounded ghastly and I was a bit nervous about it, but he was very friendly, reassuring, and explained things well, so I felt a lot better getting started. The procedure only took about 15 mins, and was a bit painful, but I was up and out of there in record time. The staff was excellent. I definitely recommend Urology Austin and Dr Sundarum in particular.
I saw Ashley Blackshare who is so professional, patient and excellent at listening to my concerns. She was able to get me started on the medication I needed to fix my issue, answer all my questions without feeling like I need to rush. I was able to go on with my life as normal. This was so refreshing, efficient and just perfect to not have to do procedures that are not needed or would just put a "bandaid" in the issue. I recommend her 100% if you need to go to the Urologist!
Dr. Giesler is 5 Star. But the company is a constant frustration. They never answer the phone and never respond to a message, even when it regards a prescription.
With Dr. Sundaram at Urology Austin, I got an aquablation operation. It is the latest type of operation if you have a hard time peeing. The restriction is in the prostate and this process maps out the prostate so it knows what to remove and, more importantly, what not to remove so you can still get a good erection. I hate to put it so bluntly but I want to get the point across. I found it to not be painful! It was a messy process for about 3 weeks after the operation. I was peeing some blood. Sometimes more. Sometimes less in the 3 weeks. When it is more, drink atleast a quart of water every couple hours. After the 3 weeks was up, I could pee like a Russian Race horse. 🏇
Didn’t feel like they were really on it or cared that much. I spent a lot of time and money to be told to go to a different kind of specialist, kinda annoying.
On November 28, 2022 I underwent the Radical Prostatectomy procedure to remove my cancerous prostate. A very high percentage of men that undergo this procedure have urinary leakage problems - sometimes for YEARS. A very small percentage of men that undergo this procedure are leakage free after 3 months or so. I was 100% leakage free from day one - after the catheter was removed. I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Eric Giesler at Urology Austin, in Austin, Texas. His expertise, guided by God's hands, and experience resulted in me becoming cancer free and leakage free! I went to Physical Therapy after the surgery for training on how to prevent leakage and build up my "pelvic floor" to hopefully not have to wear a diaper for the rest of my life. After two sessions, with no leakage, the Physical Therapist told me that I did not need to come back for the remaining 2-4 sessions. I am able to squat, sit, bend over, pick up heavy (50 pounds or more) boxes, pick up my kids, and 74 pound German Shepherd without any conscious clenching or tightening of my "guts." If anyone you know has prostate cancer and needs their prostate removed, please consider Dr. Eric Giesler in Austin. For those that don't have prostate cancer, make sure you get your PSA test done on a regular basis. There are no symptoms of prostate cancer in most cases. Get it checked! The digital prostate exam is no substitute for the PSA test! urologyaustin.com/doctor…
Dr. Miranda Hardee is an exceptional urologist. Dr. Miranda Hardee listened to and answered all my concerns giving me her time. I loved that she was not in a hurry even though she was running behind. I am willing to wait for you Dr. Miranda Hardee because you care about giving quality service. That’s unheard of in this decade. She was excellent at explaining my options in a wholistic manner. I am so impressed with her and for her care she deserves A+++. My sincerest thanks for your fantastic service Dr. Miranda Hardee.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
