The patient was my husband. I almost lost him twice. Once to pneumonia and then to a necrotic esophagus. The doctors and nurses here saved his life with the help of God. All of the staff at Select Specialty Hospital were great.

Gay McPeek -5 starI was admitted 3/19 for an emergency surgery to LRMC, after an extensive stay there I transferred to Select because I had no strength and had to use a walker, I could not even use my phone. I needed nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy and wound care for my new ostomy. I had chest tubes and needed IV medications. The doctor here noticed a problem on my xray that needed attention and I was sent back to LRMC. I was so thankful they identified the problem so I could get it fixed, I went home but ended back at LRMC a few days later. 5/20 my doctors recommended Select again. Now I am proud to say I can walk independently, can talk and use my phone and take care of myself. They have taught me and arranged for everything that I will need at home as well. They have arranged my follow up appointments and home health care. I can’t just name a few people that stand out because I would have to name them ALL! I am happy to go home but I am going to miss all of them. I definitely bonded with them. They could tell when I was down and they would encourage me and even stopped what they were doing to pray for me. I would definitely recommend Select, they are wonderful, caring, and I could not ask for anything better, they communicated with me and made me feel like they were glad to take care of me, I never felt like I was just their job.

This has been the best hospital I've been to. All the nursing staff have been wonderful and attentive. The therapists have been great and all have been aggressive in ensuring I can get back to normal if not, to some sort of normalcy. Red in speech therapy not only assisted in me finding my voice again, but discovered some of my talents and helped me use those as a positive influence or therapy if you will, to help keep me focused on this path. Jess in physical therapy, has an awesome and aggressive attitude; almost a sweet but no nonsense way of letting you know, "you're doing this". Without them, I don't know where I would be...

After a terrible motorcycle accident that rendered my left leg a mangled broken mess, I was admitted to the care of Select. I didn't feel like just another patient there, I felt like a member of the family. The care and attention to detail was exceptional.

I was in an accident in October that caused head trauma. I have been in and out of facilities since then. I became bed bound and on a ventilator. Finally, I arrived at Select Specialty Hospital Longview in February 2020. The team here is awesome. I am no longer on the ventilator. My trach was removed. I have been working with therapy and hope to be walking on my own soon. I want to thank Jessica for pushing me. I needed it. I want to especially thank my wife for enduring this long process.

I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for the staff at Select Medical in Longview. They have excellent nursing and physical therapy. The CNAs are wonderful and delightful and the food was excellent. The wound care specialist was the reason my wounds healed. Even the administration was involved in my care and making sure my needs were met. Everyone really cared. I would recommend this hospital to anyone who has severe medical problems.

A wonderful hospital!! Great nurses! My husband would not be here today if not for the care he received there!
