Yoakum Community Hospital's Online Review Report Card

I have just spent the last 11+ days here due to Covid pneumonia. The staff here is fantastic! Very caring! NO BETTER PLACE to be! Hopefully going home soon. A super special shout-out to the nurses. Working long hours, but that didn’t slow them down. I’m very thankful for their efforts.

I was recently hospitalized at YCH for Covid. I was there for 10 days and can’t say enough for the excellent care I received. The whole staff was beyond helpful and I am a survivor of the Covid thanks to them. The little hospital in Yoakum is great!

I was told by a Dr that insurance would cover my needs but the hospital never divulged the cost or how it was going to be billed until it to late and it cost me $3100 out of pocket seems to me most business would be liable for disruptive trade

Did the best they could for me

My grandmother had blood work and an MRI done. Austin Trojak, the MRI tech, was extremely knowledgeable when reviewing her bloodwork to give her the best possible care. He also went above and beyond discussing what he did and making sure we have everything we need to give our doctor and the specialist.

Never had the use that hospital. But l haven’t heard any complaints.

you pay your bill & then a month or 2 later you receive letter demanding payment for more w/ no explanation no itemizing nothing then later on they send you another letter stating you owe 40× as much when no visits were made & you submitted insurance before.

After we found our daughter collapsed, Dr Whisenath was awesome. He was able to diagnose what my daughter was suffering from. They we're not able to treat her with everything she needed. He called and scheduled Air-life to transfer her to St David's in Austin for her treatment. Thank you fur all you did to get the proper treatment she so dispertly needed.

I recently had a 3D mammogram with Becky, the mammographer, and I was so blown away. They have the latest and best equipment. The mammogram itself was such a breeze. Not at all the usual painful cold sterile experience. Becky had a small sofa, pillows, a pretty blanket, and soft lighting. I'm in my 60's so I've had a lot of them but after leaving I texted every woman that lived locally in my phone book and told them that this is the only place to go. 4 friends booked appointments that afternoon. That they partner with MDsave is a huge bonus. Cost me less for the best mammogram I have ever had. Just awesome!!!! Thank you so much.

My family and I moved here 5 years ago. And every single time I’ve been to this place I’ve dealt with people who really must hate their jobs. Everyone is ridiculously rude! And not at all helpful! Today my brother in law went in and yet again we got women who need an attitude adjustment. So I’ve had it with this place and finally decided to leave a review to let other people know what it’s like. It’s almost as if you’re not from yoakum and don’t know someone who works there they don’t want to help you. Worst hospital I’ve ever been to. And that says a lot being as I deal with the VA more.
