First - I am a doctorate-level health care pro having worked w/ all flavor of docs for over 20 years. Bottom line: Had surgery at U of U and got only 9 weeks of relief. When doc learned I was not a success story, his level off arrogance and A-hole-ness spiked. All of the U docs do things the same old-school way, and no PT until you've spent 6-12 weeks (depending on procedure) deconditioning post-op. Dr. J did a procedure UofU ortho doesn't believe in, completely fixed me, had me in PT 1 week post-op, and was a NICE GUY in the process. The guy has a BS and Masters in mechanical engineering from UofU, MD from U of Pittsburgh, Ortho residency of UNM, Spine fellowship from U of Wisconsin, and research in instrument deisign, holding multiple patents. And he coaches youth sports, attends church, and is involved in humanitarian efforts! Do yourself a favor and see Dr. J if you may need surgery, have plans for surgery, or have already had surgery that failed.

Well 8 weeks post surgery I feel I need to write a review on Dr. Johnson, His PA Jessica. Back surgery was my last option after 13 years of pain, I was nervous, scared of surgery on my spine at a young age, but Dr Johnson and Jessica made me feel like I was in the right place and they could help me. They went through everything with me to make sure it was the right thing to do, made me feel comfortable and it was a successful surgery and I would only recommend Dr. Johnson for back surgery! Thanks for giving me relief, and a better way of life.

Dr. Johnson performed an ACDF procedure on me that yielded immediate results with very little discomfort. My regret is not doing this years ago. Dr. Johnson and his staff exceeded my expectations.

Dr. Paul Johnson was highly recommended by several friends. I was so impressed with his bedside manner. He is a skilled surgeon and I had a great experience with my disc replacement surgery. He’s friendly, takes time and is kind. I highly recommend him. 👍🏻 Edit: My scar looks amazing. Everyone has commented on what a great job my surgeon did.

I had been in pain for 15 years, seen several doctors who told me to learn to live with the pain. I had surgery one month ago and have been pain free since then. Dr. Johnson is amazing!

I had been experiencing months of severe pain from a pinched nerve. Dr. Johnson pinpointed the problem and using the latest techniques and technology, successfully eliminated my pain entirely! I would highly recommend him to friends and family.

There office was so helpful and Dr Johnson did great work with my back surgery.

I am not one to write reviews but my experience has been so poor, I felt I needed to. If nothing else, to help them improve. Been to see the Dr twice and never once had a physical exam. I complained about a specific spot that has hurt for 20 years, yet the Dr would not even push on it. Relied on an X-ray and said they didn’t see anything. My second visit, I was told the wrong location and had to wait 1 hr 30 min to be seen. My chart was lost, my phone number was lost and they said they lost my address to send the bill to. All this even though I double checked before I left. The last step the Dr wanted to do was an injection in my neck and said they would contact me. Again, I made sure they had my right number. That was 8 weeks ago and I never heard a thing. Beyond frustrating to be in pain and not feel heard or respected enough. $600 worth of frustration.

5 months after L4,L5 S1 surgery. Never took ONE pain pill. Walked the same day and have continued to move without pain. Followed directions as they say "to the T". After 3 months was given the green light. 5 stars is far short of his abilities coupled with great bedside manners / follow up visits.

Great bedside manner. You can tell he really cares and gets to know you. My surgery was successful and I am pretty much pain free. It wasn’t easy, but Doc Johnson did a great job. I wouldn’t hesitate to have him operate on me.
