Told me to “drink water” instead of prescribing the meds I needed

Dr. Connolly takes time to listen to the struggles my son has. We finally have the correct diagnosis and medications that help him function normally.

Sometimes he tends to drone on a bitwhich is particularly difficult with a teen but Dr. Connolly seems to sincerely care about my son. He always asks questions and listens to my perspective as a parent as well as my sons perspective. He also seems to value the value and diagnosis of my sons therapist which is crucial. The way our system is set up it is the therapist who sees the patient weekly or more who is actually able to determine where the patient is truly at. The psychiatristdoctor must take into account what the therapist is seeing and base medication upon this along with his or her brief observation of course. In our system psychiatrists arent the ones who dive deeply and help you process the problemsthats the job of the therapist. The psychiatrist is there to prescribe medication. Dr. Connolly does this well. He listens to us to the therapist and combines this with his own expertise to determine which medication to use.

Dr Michael Connelly has help my son in ways I could only imagine. I never thought the progress Ive seen through the years could happen. It gives me hope for my sons future.

DO NOT MAKE ANY APPOINTMENTS WITH THIS DR You will regret it I would actually give 0 stars but but thats not an option. They have no compassion and no room for error or miscommunication. Its true that they have a policy that states that if you miss your appointment you will be charged $365 and you have to sign it. But I figured that since I put everything in my calendar and have reminders 25 min before the appointment that its rare that I ever miss appointments and figured I would be ok. After all I had been recommended to this Dr from another trusted Dr and was hopeful of good things to come.I have never missed an appointment with my other child with Dr Connolly either. The afternoon that I made my appointment for my other child there were 2 morning times available. I had thought about doing the 820 AM appointment but changed the appt for the later appointment at 1010 AM. I work every morning and had to make sure that my husband who would be taking him didnt have an early morning meeting and I have an elementary aged child that leaves for school at 830. So the 820 AM appt wouldnt work. Also my child who the appointment was for has been so sick since September that he only goes to 1 class at school and only every other day. That class is done by 9 AM and so that is why I changed the appointment to later that morning at 1010. I put that in my calendar while I talked with them in the office.They left a voicemail last week stating that we had an appt this morning and I must have deleted it before I heard the time because I saw that it was on my calendar and didnt need the time because it was already scheduled. I get a phone call this morning that states that his appt was at 820 and they were wondering if he was coming. I tried to tell them that there was some miscommunication and that I had needed the 1010 appt and they blamed it all on meThey are now charging us $365 because my child missed their appt. It takes 2 to communicate and yes there was error on my part but they just repeated over and over that I had the appointment reminder card paper and that is was scheduled for 820 not 1010. I understand the reason why there are fees for missed appointments but for miscommunication? I even asked if I could talk with the Dr and they refused.Dr Connolly is a part of the Granger Medical clinic and doesnt represent the clinic well at all. I have seen many Drs through Granger Medical who really care about you are understanding compassionate take the time to talk with you and understand that miscommunication can happen as we are all not perfect. Take my advice and stay far away from this Drs office.

Unbelievably ridiculous bedside manner. I took my bipolarborderline son for an appointment and sat in on the appointment. We are new to the area and waited 8 weeks to get a first appointment. Dr. Connolly was rather condescending and acted like he didnt believe a word my son was saying. He suggested my son was not telling him the whole story. Considering it was our first visit we decided to give him one more chance. This time I sent my son in alone thinking that perhaps the doctor thought my being there was swaying the facts. The second appointment was even worse. Dr. Connolly treated him with disdain as though my son was making up stories to get what he wanted implying that he was a manipulator. Dr. Connolly even swore at him which is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable and unprofessional no matter who the client is. What my son wants is help to get off of his meds because they make him feel horrible. Im not sure what the doctor thinks he wants but we have never been more disappointed. My son was completely traumatized. In eight years of therapy and psychiatrists and doctors my son has never been treated so horribly nor have we ever met such a terribly uncompassionate and uncaring doctor. My son suffers enough already and does not need added trauma from someone who is supposed to be helping him.

I really really like Dr.Connoly. He is very real and blunt which I greatly appreciate. He listened very well and gave direct feedback. I couldn’t be more satisfied with my appointment.

Worst psychiatrist I have ever been to.

All about the money I get it but $300.00 for a missed appointment seriously dude you suck.
