I felt like I received the best of care from Dr. Amundsen for my total knee replacement and follow-up! My healing process also went very smoothly. His explanations were clear & informative and the procedure went extremely well without any complications. He and his staff were knowledgeable and courteous. I very much appreciate their expertise!
Great Dr who listens and explains things very well!
Dr. Amundsen handled the full replacement of both of my knees over the last 9 months. His work was outstanding. He always took the time to answer my questions and explain what was going on. Both knees felt better right after surgery than they did the day before. I highly recommend Dr. Amundsen. An amazing experience.
He shows real concern and is genuinely concerned about fixing the problem I present
There is a “sliver-lining” to adversity in life. The same is true of athletic and/or old-age injuries. The “silver-lining” for me is having Dr. Amundsen, his PA (Jason) and his excellent support staff to keep my 75-year old legs skiing a few years longer. Dr. Amundsen replaced my wife’s right knee in October 2022 and is performing arthroscopic surgery on my right meniscus in early September. Based on hip and knee replacements Dr. Amundsen has performed on my wife, as well as multiple friends and neighbors, he and his team are considered the “best on the Wasatch Front,” and perhaps the best in the western U.S. I have the utmost confidence that Dr. Amundsen and the rest of the Peak Orthopedics team will make I sure I achieve my life-long goal of skiing free at Alta when I’m 80 years old!👍🏻😊🙏🏻
For years I have had hip pain just have to live with the pain. The pain finally was so bad, I asked my doctor about it and she referred me to Dr. Spencer Amundsen, he diagnosed Bursitis. Trying to avoid surgery, we tried various treatments to no avail. A few weeks ago, he removed the bursa. Immediately I had no more pain, Naturally I had a little pain from the surgery but the hip pain is 100% gone. I am so very grateful I was referred to Dr. Amundsen and for his knowledge and care. I wish I had met Dr. Amundsen years ago and highly recommend him to anyone with hip problems. If surgery is recommended, do not hesitate to have it.
Great experience. Very thorough explanation of what was needed, what needed to happen, what to expect. The staff was very friendly, very helpful and answer. Any question I had.
It's always pleasant to go to the office . Everyone is so nice
Dr. Amundsen is professional and very knowledgeable. He takes his time to share all the information a patient needs before and after surgery. He gives me time to ask questions and answers each one. He genuinely cares for his patients. Dr. Amundsen did a total knee replacement on my right knee two weeks ago. My two week post op follow up was today. He gave me excellent information about what to expect for the weeks to come. I am so happy to have Dr. Amundsen as my surgeon. I highly recommend him for any knee surgery you may need! He, his MA and PA are all FIVE STAR!!
I went to Dr Amundsen with knee issues. He recommended a partial knee replacement. After having the surgery I noticed my knee cap would pop in and out. At ALL of my follow up appointments I expressed these concerns. Dr. Amundsen’s PA continues to assure me it was fine. ( after your appt you never see Amy naden only his PA) after months of this I finally demanded to see Amundsen. Amundsen took one look and asked how long it had been happening. Long story short should have never had a partial knee replacement because I have patell. .He recommended revising it to a total which I did in December. After months of physical therapy it still was weak and felt unstable. Went back to Amundsen only to once again see his PA. I told him my concerns and he told me there was nothing he could do. Fast forward to now less than 6 my maths since my total. I have gotten two other opinions. The first doctor drained a syringe of fluid out of my knee and injected it. He informed me the implant is to lose and it will need to be redone. I took that information and have now seen a second Dr who also says the same thing. So looks like I will be have a third surgery to fix the two done by Dr Amundsen. Dr Amundsen has done zero follow up and his PA is not qualified to do all his follow up.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
