I really like dr McBride. I feel that he does a great job at making sure I am taken care of and on the best course of treatment for my conditions.

This doctor has zero bedside manner. He doesn't listen to your heart until the last thing. I have a bad Heart rhythm problem. McBride ordered a heart monitor thru the mail. That takes over 2 weeks. I don't trust this guy. No Urgency when it comes to patients worries about their heart

Very kind and patient . Spent plenty of time explaining and making sure that we understood everything. We would definitely recommend him.

My experience with Dr. McBride was not positive. I had had several incidents of fainting where my heart stopped beating for 30 - 40 seconds each time, once at a hospital where the flatline incident was recorded. Dr. McBride said I probably had vasovagal syncopy which he said was extremely common and "annoying." He seemed completely unconcerned. I spoke to a different cardiologist who was very concerned with these incidents and also the Type 2 heart block that an earlier heart monitor had recorded. The 2nd cardiologist said it is pretty clear I will need a pacemaker at some point. With Dr. McBride I felt very unvalidated. As a different reviewer wrote, Dr. McBride seemed apathetic. I would not recommend him to others.

He wasn’t able to address concerns. Seemed very apathetic. Gave him 3 visits to give him the benefit of the doubt but still would not recommend.

I found the office staff to be very rude and Dr. McBride to be very noncommunicative. I had a cardiac event and tried to get an appt. My primary doctor had referred me, but then covid happened and my dr. had retired in the meantime. They would NOT make me an appt.! I ended up having to go to the ER and saw Dr. McBride. He ran every test in the book on me ($40,000 plus) and found nothing wrong. Okay, good news, but he did nothing to reassure me at all. On my follow up visit (another $800 bill), the office staff were again extremely rude. I had a list of questions, to which I got minimal answers. "Why did this happen?" "I don't know" "What do I do now?" "Nothing" "Why do I still have pain?" "I don't know" "Have you ever seen this before?" "Sometimes." Very frustrating. He kept trying to push drugs on me nonetheless. ??? And finally, after a 20 minute question and non-answer session, he FINALLY actually listened to my heart! I expected him to do that first thing. I don't know, maybe he knows his stuff, but I would have really appreciated a little bit of communication. I was super freaked out, I've never had heart issues before, a little bit of reassurance would have gone a long way.

Dr. McBride is awesome. He is a competent, skilled cardiologist...but best of all he actually listens and is "in the room" when you consult with him. I felt like a valuable human being in his care. I'd had some bad luck recently with doctors that dismissed my recurring issues. Not here, and not with Dr. McBride. I'd highly recommend him to anyone need cardiovascular care. He works hard to get it right for his patients. BONUS: the staff and front desk at Utah Cardiology are actually NICE, helpful, and responsive.
