Love her! She did great!

I wouldn’t recommend booking any appointments with Dr. Smith. We went to see her for a problem that we’ve been continually working on with our children (we’d been working with a different pediatrician but had to change once we moved). We have seen many specialists in addition to a pediatrician for these problems and have been actively working to help our kids. We went to see Dr. Smith soon after moving to the area, and we let her know what our concerns were and informed her of what we had been doing to work with our kids. We also went through the types of specialists that we have been to see and what they had to say. She suggested that perhaps the problems were just genetic and that our kids would grow out of it as they age; in the meantime there didn’t seem to be a lot of reason for concern as our children are developing well. A few days after our appointment with her, Child Protective Services showed up at our door. For those of you who don’t know, these are the people who check on families to make sure their children are being cared for and remove them if the situation is bad enough. We asked him why he’d been called and he repeated to us the problems that we’d been struggling with in helping our children. We strongly assume that it was Dr. Smith who called them based on the information the man from CPS had on hand (he obviously isn’t allowed to reveal who called). The man came inside, took a quick look around our front room, said there was absolutely no reason to substantiate the claims, and left. The stress, embarrassment, and shame that came with that visit, even though nothing happened, was so damaging. We were talking with another doctor at Tanner Clinic about what happened and he admitted to us that he has specifically instructed his staff NOT to send any of their patients to her. She has a strong reputation with this doctor of calling CPS on families who are already seeking help. We also have a friend who works as a nurse at the hospital, and she told us that she will no longer bring her children to see ANY Tanner Clinic pediatricians because of her experiences with Dr. Smith (both professionally and with her own children). Looking at other reviews, it seems like a LARGE portion of them were through urgent care. A review after one visit doesn’t seem like a good basis for how somebody would be long-term. Also knowing that Tanner Clinic asks for your reviews by direct communication and only submits higher ratings, I’m not sure that her star rating is accurate. When it comes to seeing her on a regular basis, save yourself a lot of grief and see somebody else. If your child is never sick, never gets bruises, and is developing perfectly then you might be fine, but I wouldn’t risk it. Also, the wait times were horrible. With our former pediatrician we would wait 5-10 minutes once we taken back. With Dr. Smith it was consistently a 30-60 minute wait in the room after being taken back and before we saw her. Once it ended up being an hour and fifteen minutes. Kind of ridiculous.

Wonderful doctor, very knowledgeable. I felt totally confident with everything she told us. Thanks for being so family friendly!

I love how she was attentive to our son. Listened to us when we asked questions.

We have been so impressed with Dr Smith! She listens with genuine concern, asks a lot of questions, and really takes her time. She is also so knowledgeable and has great ideas and suggestions. My daughter has LOVED going to her!

Dr. Smith was wonderful in treating my daughter and her broken arm. She gave clear instructions, showed us both compassion and patiently answered questions. I’m grateful for her wisdom and kindness.

So nice and patient with us freaking out over our son's dislocated knee. Would use her services again!
