Dr. Bertram saw something on my CAT scan that many others had missed. It was professional and friendly. He obviously has a lot of knowledge and experience in his speciality.

He seemed knowledgeable, but seemed unwilling to do anything to help my pain. Recommended PT but my PCP has done that before so I'm unsure why seeing the specialist was necessary

I would give him 3.5 stars. He was very knowledgeable and knew a lot about backs. I got a lumbar epidural shot from him, and I had some very bad side effects. I talked to him about it and he said that that is not normal and so we shouldn’t continue with the next one. I appreciate him saying that versus pushing it. However, his bedside manner is not the best. He isn’t exactly the greatest listener and he would cut my husband and I off quite a bit while we were trying to talk to him. Plus my back is not better, however, I know that doctors can only do so much.

Dr Bertram examined MRI scans of my back then put me through various manivers to isolate source of lower back pain Then he diagnosed the problem and showed me the MRI scans on his computer screen and pointed out the areas causing my pain Then Dr Bertram showed me the same thing on a physical spine model. He thinks my pain can be alleviated by 2 epidural shots which we will begin next week. I am looking forward to it. First rate experience. I recommend him.

I went in for back pain. The doctor went out of his way to make arrangements for me to get relief; not just medications but to validate the cause of the problem and to correct it at the source.

Very good experience. Good explanation of my condition and what to expect next. I look forward to and am hopeful he will help me finally get some relief from my back pain.
