Doctor Maughan performed my back surgery ten years ago, and I recently had neck surgery. Both turned out fantastic. I highly recommend him to all my friends.

Worst doctor ever!!!! seen him twice in the whole time I went through my procedure and I feel worse than before I had my surgery. Beware of this doctor when picking someone you need to trust in. I definitely would try to find someone else.

Dr. Maughan had no bedside manner, was always rushed! Impossible to talk to. I dealt more with Lisa, she seemed more like the doctor, she was fabulous! My neck is worse than before surgery and I my limited to movement range, up down side to side.. I hurt so much more!!

My husband was referred to Dr. Maughan with a herniated disc. He was extremely off-putting and had no bedside manner. He spent the whole appointment telling us how much our insurance sucked and how we'd be in medical debt, even though we knew we could get a surgical benefit added. He didn't seem to care at all about my husband's condition... only concerned about if he'd get paid. Just to be belittled by him for 15 min was $678 before insurance. Outrageous. Needless to say, we went to an orthopedic surgeon who was kind and took us seriously and performed the operation well before our follow up appointment with this guy.

Dr. MAUGHAN NEVER SPOKE TO ME HE HAD A NURSE COME INTO THE ROOM AND TELL ME THAT MY SYMPTOMS WERE NOT CAUSED BY THE PINEAL CYST. IF I SPEND THE TIME TO COMPETE PAPERWORK, MRI AND SUCH THE LEAST A PROFESSIONAL CAN DO IS MAKE THE EFFORT TO PRESENT HIMSELF AT THAT APPOINTMENT AND NOT SOME RANDOM FEMALE. HE IS NOT THE SURGEON HE CLAIMS TO BE. DONT BILL ME FOR your inability to SHOW UP DR. MAUGHAN.

I think Dr Maughan did me a favor doing my procedure. S-1 to L-3 fuse. I felt great until an accident put me back. His is great surgeon and did get him to smile once.

I don’t think he wanted me as a patient…. He kept just sitting there like he didn’t know how I could have the pain I was having because it didn’t jive with my MRI of my neck and back. Come to find out it wasn’t a neck or back problem and yet he set me up for spinal injections and discussed surgeries to help my issue. Turned out it wasn’t an issue with my spine at all but rather my ulnar nerve in my elbow. Thank goodness I got another opinion and he looked at other possibilities for my problem.

I had a football injury in 2010 when I was 16 years old. Dr Maughn, from memory, was an exceptional physician and I had world class nurses that helped me make a full recovery. I chose a career in healthcare because of this experience, and I will be ever thankful for Dr Maughn and modern medicine during this life threatening period of my life!

My whole experience with Dr. Maughan was extremely seamless. I was in excruciating pain from a herniated disc in my L5-S1 joint that was compressing the nerves to my right leg and making me unable to walk without meds or if they wore off. When I discovered the consultation appointment was a month out, I decided to call around to my second and third choices but wasn't met with the same kindness in any sense and their appts were way further out. Teresa, a scheduler at Dr Maughan's actually took the time to call me back the next day and see if I still wanted that appointment. I jumped on it. She's extra sweet in person too! When the appointment came, Dr. Maughan and his nurse practioner, Lori were expensively experienced and very knowledgeable about my personal situation. My surgery the following week was seamless, except for the stitches ;). Everyone at Intermountain was also great and eased my anxiety and fears about my first surgery. The same day I was able to walk with no nerve pain what so ever. I am still recovering from the incision. I can't thank Dr. Maughan and his team enough for the work they do and how straight forward everything was. Thank you for giving me my life back!!

Dr Maughn is an excellent brain surgeon, I had a meningioma on my pituitary gland and he went in and removed it with no difficulties...I have recovered very well. If you are looking for a excellent surgeon what ever it might be please feel comforted to know you are in good hands with Dr Maughn and Lori his assistant along with his staff that is with them in surgery room.
