Deseret Counseling's Online Review Report Card

While I haven't personally had an appointment at this clinic yet, it came highly recommended by a close friend whose children have received care here. She spoke especially highly of Nancy, sharing that she is incredibly compassionate, knowledgeable, and skilled in working with trauma and abuse. As a parent currently navigating these challenges with my own child, I've been searching for a place that offers not only expert care but also understanding and support. I'll be reaching out soon to connect with Nancy, and I already feel encouraged knowing that others have had such positive experiences here. I'm grateful for the recommendation and hopeful that this will be the right fit for our family.

I am an actor so naturally I have mental issues that need addressing. I have loved the staff and my therapist Jimmy at Deseret Counseling. My experience has been nothing short of phenomenal. Despite being on the waitlist for some time (7 months) before being able to see anyone (which frankly I didn't mind because I was not the type to go to, nor did I want to go to therapy; because you know I'm a guy and guys don't talk about their feelings) I have been able to work through some very challenging things and have seen a significant difference in my mental health since meeting with them. If you're looking for a therapist that cares for you, seeks to understand you, and who you can send memes to you should seriously consider Jimmy and his staff. They are top notch and in my opinion are the best there is.

As part of a settlement during my recovery from being pretty violently rear-ended in a vehicle collision, I was referred to Deseret counseling through my accident attorney. I didn't know fully what to expect, of course I was traumatized by the accident, but I didn't understand the emotional toll it would take on a person. As I started dealing with incredibly heightened anxiety, Corey, my therapist I was referred to in the Orem office, helped me to identify patterns of similar occurrences in my life, in which we processed through many traumas that I have gone through in my years, which in turn addressed the anxiety and other symptoms I was trying to deal with due to my car accident. This place has been professional and also entirely necessary, needed and helpful for me. I am so grateful for my therapist and for this company. Even after we are done with this settlement, I think it's in my best interest to continue working with a therapist, and emdr therapy especially. Any person will benefit from this place...sorry for the long review

I have been going there for over half a year and have had a great experience. The counseling has helped me change my thinking habits and the way I live my life for the better.

Very disappointed with this place. I waited 50 minutes and nothing. Didn't know if I was supposed to knock on their door but didn't want to disturb if they were with a patient. I could hear them talking and laughing from outside the door so I don't know if that's even where they talk to their patients. I'm guessing they would at least come out and check or tell me they are running late or something. Give some paperwork to fill out, anything! I don't live super close and had to wait a month for this appointment because my first appointment got cancelled. The reason they had to cancel was understandable, but I've been trying to find a good therapist for a long time now and once again I'm disappointed! This was for my child and it was a nightmare to try and get him/her to agree to this. There were lots of tears and struggle to even get in the car. Needless to say I'm very frustrated!

great experience, it is nice to have someone to talk to that can help you see where you are at and what could be done to change your outlook.

Was very disappointed with the counseling group. Might be good for individual counseling, but definitely not the one to go to for couple counseling. The therapist was late for my session and then ended early, but still billed for the full hour even though it was only about 30 minutes. After she met with my partner several times, she didn't think it necessary to follow up or ask questions of me prior to setting up a couple appointment. Very clearly biased and unable to work with two people effectively. The counselor was unable to take feedback. When concerns were expressed, she didn't try to understand and became defensive. In my last conversation, she kept referring to my partner as her client and I had to remind her that we were both supposed to be her client as it was couple counseling. A huge waste of money.

I am with a company that uses Deseret Counseling services regularly. Their compassion and willingness to work with all and any of our people is extraordinary. They have a broad skill set, flexible schedules, work with many age groups and are always professional and caring. He and Nancy seem to be a perfect team in that between them, they handle just about any situation and kind of issue imaginable. James is always a joy and calling their office is like speaking someone you have known a long time. They do this while still maintaining the highest level of professionalism we expect in this business. I have found that to be a rare combination. If you have a need or think you might benefit from counseling in a safe and quality environment, just call and you will see what I am talking about. I would rank them one of the best in the country. I highly recommend them.

Deseret has your best interest in mind. Jimmy is top notch in professionalism and in helping people. He is an awesome counselor and person.
