Ryan Isom's Online Review Report Card

Dr Ryan Isom is one of the best doctors I have ever met. Dr Isom is very kind, knowledgeable and treats you as he would if you were family. Dr Isom has done work on both my eyes and I feel very fortunate to have been in the care of such a wonderful doctor.

Dr. Isom is one of the very best doctor's I've ever been to. I had emergency surgery for a detached retina late last Friday night. I was referred to him, being told he was one of the best. That referral was more than accurate. He clearly knows exactly what he's doing and also is very understanding of the concerns I had. He explained everything in a clear and concise manner. He took plenty of time to make sure I knew what was happening and what to anticipate. I had my first follow-up appt with him yesterday and while the outcome of my surgery will still be unknown for several weeks (as is the case with retina surgery), he took the time to again answer all my questions and even anticipate what else would be helpful for me to know. He honestly makes me feel like a member of his family, caring deeply about me, my feelings, and the outcome. I could not recommend him more highly. So grateful he chose to become a physician.

The Gentle Giant. That is how you’ll hear his patients describe Dr. Isom. He is a welcome addition to our lives. I have lost much of my vision due to retinal damage. In January of 2017, I began to see an apparition in the center of vision in one of my eyes. It doesn’t go away, as do my migraine hallucinations. It is ever present, even when my eyes are closed. I asked Dr. Isom about it, and without taking a breath, he suggested that I suffer from Charles Bonnet Syndrome. The brain is starving from a lack of visual input from the eyes, and so it fills a void with an image of its own. Wow! I looked it up online, and my symptoms match the syndrome. With this knowledge, I have been able to learn to ignore the apparition to some extent, and function better. Back to the gentle giant. Many of us receive injections into our eyes rather than get laser treatments. And Dr. Isom’s patients, my 85-year-old mother included, laud his gentle touch.

Dr. Isom is a very professional and personable doctor. He gives thorough explanations of the what and why of the condition and the treatment options. Excellent physician!!

I presented with an severe retinal tear. Dr. Isom has been awesome. He is kind and goes over and above in explaining the condition and treatment. Bedside manner is super. Outcome has been excellent, especially given the severity of the tear. Highly recommend!
