Enrique Baires's Online Review Report Card

I was recently looking to change primary care providers and made an appointment at Ogden clinic. I met with Dr Baires and he was able to get me the treatment I have needed for month. Reception is great and friendly, and the wait wasn’t long.

I have seen Dr Baires in the urgent care several times-each visit I have left feeling like he didn’t really address the problem correctly. I prefer other providers that I have seen.

Not impressed. He obviously hadn't read the chart before he came in. He didn't listen to our answers. He moved the stethoscope around so quickly there is NO way he could have heard anything. He glanced in my son's throat for about 1/2 sec. And at an angle that he couldn't have really seen his throat . He asked if he had a cough, we said "no", and he said "You will. It's a virus. So you'll get a cough in the next day or two." And pretty much was done with the visit. I had to have been looking at him like "WTAF?" Because that's exactly what i was thinking! They had tested for strep, covid, and flu before the blur we saw of the doctor. I believe he was in the room with us for less than 2 or 3 min. He said his strep was negative, but the other results weren't ready, because they take like 20-30 min. We had already sat in the room for over 20 min after she swabbed...I asked "so shouldn't they be done then?" That was when he opened his laptop. "Oh. They are negative." I have worked in the medical field and I am completely floored by the treatment (or lack thereof) by this doctor. To feel dismissed after being seen in such an abrupt manner, I cannot even comprehend. In future visits, if he walks in the room I will ask for another doctor or will walk out.

Dr. Baires did not listen to a thing I had to say. I went in for a physical and to have my knees and shoulders looked at because they will lock in place. All that he did was check my breathing, tell me to quit smoking (which is an obvious if you’re a smoker) and gave my knees a steroid injection. This was THE WORST doctor I’ve ever seen. He didn’t care what I had to say or listen to the concerns I had. I WILL definitely be looking for a different doctor!!

I was so sick and was thankful they accepted one more patient that evening. The doctor and staff were very kind and thorough. I was tested for Covid and influenza. My test was positive for influenza. I’m glad I was tested because I thought it was allergies. I was given the choice of taking tamiflu. I decided to try it and by the next day I felt tremendous relief. The doctor gained my confidence by being straight forward about the diagnosis. I recommend him without reservation.

My issue was completely resolved with his help… I’m grateful to him for feeling better… and so quickly.

We like Dr. Baires and his staff. They treat us like they really care. They explain everything we need to know about our healthcare in a way we can understand.

On Friday evening of the Labor Day weekend my left foot and leg was swelled much bigger than my right foot, so I went to the Urgent Care and Dr. Baires examined me and told me to go to the Emergency Dept. at the hospital to get an ultrasound--Now! In talking to the hospital, they said that if I didn't get a STAT Order from the doctor they could not bill it as outpatient services--and therefore, Medicare would not approve it and I would be responsible to pay everything myself. (If Medicare does not approve a service, my supplementary insurance will not pay.) So I went back to the urgent care to ask for one the next morning, and the doctor refused to give me one, or even call one in! He sent his nurse out to give me that message. I tried to explain the financial situation to her to ask him to do this simple thing for me, but HE WOULD NOT!!! And she told me so in a rude, contentious way!! I went to an IHC Instacare that afternoon, and they said that if their doctor felt I should have an ultrasound, they would immediately send the hospital a STAT Order!! Turned out that I didn't need an ultrasound at all, anyway! You can be sure I will NEVER visit this Ogden Clinic Urgent Care again, and I would especially NOT see Dr. Baires!!!! (If I could give minus stars or no star at all , I would!)
