Avenues Psychiatry And Counseling Services's Online Review Report Card

I have been a patient for years and I really love this clinic, especially Pam Gurell. She is so amazing and really cares about her patients. I have never had problems setting up appointments, prescription refills, etc. I searched forever to find a good clinic and I feel so thankful to have found Avenues Psychiatry. Another shout out to Pam, she is the best!!

I've been going here for years and everyone from my psychiatrist to the staff themselves have been absolutely great to work with. I don't ever want to go anywhere else!

I’ve been going to Avenue Psychiatry and counseling for almost a year. The staff are so nice and Make you feel welcome. Jody in the back always answers my questions and helps me in anyway she can. I would highly recommend Avenue psychiatry and counseling!

Just spoke to the receptionist and she was VERY RUDE TO ME. I asked for another prescription for my med that I’ve been taking for almost a year since I forgot to pick it up. and she was AWFUL. She was extremely rude and told me I wouldn’t get another prescription until I meet with the Doctor. The next available appointment they have is in a month from now. I don’t know what she expects… for me to cut cold turkey and get really sick ?! I asked to speak to the doctor but she wasn’t available. Ultimately it’s up to the doctor to send a refill over to the pharmacy. I don’t know why This receptionist acts like it’s her job to approve my prescription. You’d think they would have a compassionate person as their receptionist since it’s a psychiatry office. SHE IS EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL.

I consistently have positive experiences with all of the staff at Avenues Psychiatry. The front desk / scheduling staff made my day. Julia and Angie made me feel comfortable and were efficient in answering my questions. I highly recommend this facility.

I was an active patient at this clinic. My provider quit, and they told me they sent me a letter which I did not receive. I went to refill an important medication, and they refused to do so. They also refused to have another provider see me. This practice does not care about it's patients and I would highly recommend seeking care elsewhere. They made it clear to me that this was not something they can't do, they just won't. I cannot reiterate enough how unprofessional and disappointed I have been with the care and service provided by this clinic. Make a different choice, you won't regret it.

I highly suggest that anybody who is looking for Dr feelgood or treating self fictionalized mental health struggles to just head in the other direction as quick as you can because you're sitting with the best of the best in mental health care in the state. Sure, I am definitely probably one of their more liberal patients that doesn't pretend to not be liberal nor not myself but they know the fakers from the ones of us who actually would end up in the emergency room or somewhere else receiving a haldo shot 🤢without proper care. I did the actual research years ago when my mother decided on Dr. Foote because she had a strong desire for something that he could only specialize in and I always supported that desire of hers to try when nothing was working. Her progress very cool. Still took her years of convincing and the last 6 years before I came over it was very serious mom manipulation and convincing me to come back to psychiatry. Called and was given an appt for 10weeks out. Elaine set my ppw immediately. I sent it back that night or next day. Made sure they knew could access anything in my medical history they needed and what do you know I get a call and my appt changed to the next day. 6days from being brave like my mom to meeting Dr. Nicole Albrecht-Dawis! We've even ginnie pigged as I call it to find the correct formula of med. W one disorder that always messed with me med wise after I was 20 wouldn't you know it I just needed to be put back on the same exact formula that I had when I was 16 and I am the closest I've ever been in controlling this one particular disorder and who knew it made it so much better with my anxiety disorders. Wow. They've never let me run out of medication. Nor not called back and gottwn whatever the need was taken care of. Grateful they listen to your personal experience and what your body is telling you what you can and can't take. That made me brave to be a ginnie pig by my own decision not by force as I was as a child and young adult but by ensuring me when or if an allergic reaction occurs or a bad side effect we will fix it together. Yes, a couple meds did and we went thru 3 diff crossbreeds of the same base med but we got the right fit again!!! The staff never drops the ball in any serious way and NEVER when the going gets tough. Elaina you are so kind, and I absolutely love our chats. Jody your always on it and I can appreciate some OCD. They laugh and joke with you every single one of the ladies in the office if you're having a moment or are having a rough day they'll make fun right along with me even about themselves. I always hang up the phone feeling like I just related to somebody even if they don't have mental illness or have that specific disorder the compassion when they see real mental health disorders and reminding you you are just as human and allowed to have emotional responses and still successful as everybody else if not more because you've beat the odds and are still beating them in daily life and work. Last but not lease Dr. David Spendlove you've been my fav therapist in adulthood, you remind me of Dr. Fife my youth therapist that I forced to keep me till 19! Always understanding that it's not more narcotics I want but healthy habits for sleep and managing my stress and helping me get through the toughest stuff for anyone only to come out better!

They got me the help I needed and they were professional with how they did they're job

This institution had repeatedly assured my wife that her therapist was in network. She showed up and paid with cash for her co pay. Her therapist supposedly left for personal reasons and my wife searched elsewhere for a new therapist. Since then we have received over $1200 in bills claiming that the therapist she met with was not in network and that we were responsible for the full amount. They have lied on multiple occasions and have done nothing to help my wife. I would rather put a bullet in my head than seek assistance for my mental health from these people. Their only goal is to screw you for every penny that you own.
