List of Comprehensive Psychological Services's Reviews
I originally came to CPS when I needed mental health services fast and they were one of the only clinics with tons of availability, which I should have recognized as a red flag. I felt a little stuck with them once I got in and had an official ADHD diagnosis and a psychologist that I was meeting with for med management. I used their services for about two years. The front desk was very disorganized. I had to repeat sections of my ADHD diagnostic the first time I tried to get diagnosed because they failed to record my data and then got ghosted by them before I officially finished. I came back a year later and had to start the whole process over again. The front desk repeatedly scheduled me for in-person appointments on days that my doctor wasn't in office. The psychologist I eventually started meeting with was absent-minded, overly clinical, and condescending, and went completely MIA for a week when I was desperately trying to refill a medication that has severe side effects when stopped abruptly. I felt like I had to fight to get what I needed. I didn't feel taken care of and at times felt attacked. So, not the kind of place to go to if you're struggling with your mental health.
One of my children had a comprehensive evaluation for autism at the SLC location when he was a minor. The evaluator, Ann, was very professional and thorough. She was a great listener as well. The report we received was thorough and very helpful. Years later, the psychologist who oversaw my son's evaluation very kindly and quickly filled out a short form we needed to document his developmental disability for a needed accommodation and did so without charge, even though I offered to pay for their time.
Complete waste of time and money. They don't really care about their clients and are not qualified to do these types of evaluations. Most of the testing is just filling out self reports and/or pushing buttons on a computerized attention test. Their speed is awful, it took them months to deliver the results of the testing, and that was only after they waited for us to figure out that they wanted more information or testing. When we did get the report, it was filled with typos, frequently messed up simple details like my gender, claimed I told them I experienced some symptoms that I have never had, and looked like large sections had been copied and pasted in. DO NOT GO HERE!
My appointment with Dr. Neville for a mental health diagnosis went wonderfully. I felt heard and he paid attention to every little detail I said which is rare in mental health. I'm grateful for him so I can live my life like I deserve. The office, however, failed to provide my results to my doctor. I filled out the HIPAA form. They got the referral straight from my doctor. I ended up emailing it to my doctor on my own. I still have not received a bill from my visit in November or December (can't remember) but my insurance says it will be $800. I'm surprised they haven't worked to get that bill to me. It is February and I am just now able to get medicine that I need to function normally because I decided that it was easier to do it myself.
What sounds like a really bad way to help deal with mental health issues? I'll start. This place. Here's a list of the unprofessional issues I've had. Shady billing. Getting billed multiple "+$500 for additional testing" fees to sit in a room and complete an extremely long and mundane questionnaire on a laptop in a room all alone. I can do that at Starbucks for free. Literally charging more for "additional testing time" than the actual time I spent face to face with someone. Charged twice as much as a typical Utah psych eval, on average, according to what I could find on google. For whatever that's worth. Bad... logistics? Asked to get sent my eval twice through email and both times they said they sent it. Definitely did not send me anything either time. However, of course the bill went to my email just fine. How about when they bill my insurance provider, they bill it with a completely different social security number than what I've provided them and also billed the wrong insurance (I can say triwest 20 times but all they heard was tricare). How do you get that wrong? Is it my job to fix all these mistakes? And trust me, it's NOT a handwriting issue. It's just incompetence. Also, if you are a veteran and happen to be coming here on the community care program- I wouldn't recommend it. They will directly bill you over and over and you will have to explain to a different person every time that you are here through community care- a FEDERAL program that CPS is OPTED in and is responsible to know how to handle without forcing you to figure everything out yourself. It would of been 10x better for my mental health to just wait the extra 6 months and go through the VA to save myself this headache. My VA representative was just as confused as to I was on how they got everything wrong, when the VA literally directly sends them all the information they need about me and billing. Lastly if there's any issues on their part, they will just wait for you to call them instead of emailing you or anything. I waited a week for a prescription to get sent which never was sent because the phone number extension was wrong. Shouldn't the first thing you do if there is an issue be to reach out to me? Apparently not. They told me they called me once and I didn't answer. Okay??? Send me an email then. Don't just wait for me to get impatient?!Unprofessional and frankly disrespectful. Couldn't even contact the psychiatrist directly because they wanted contact to go through the front office. Yeah. Really "personal" care right there. 0/10. Wasted my time, couldn't figure out billing for months, felt disrespected in-office and on phone, and didn't treat me for was I was diagnosed with and wanted treatment for..... I am 100% convinced they just want that juicy 3 grand they get from the psych eval and then wanted me to get lost. 100% money oriented, only time they will ever call you is to figure out why billing isn't working. Not to communicate any medical information. I'll also agree with the other reviews, they never answer their phone. Well they do, but you have to be lucky.
They never have a receptionist, they never answer the phone, when I leave messages they never call back when it is prescriptions are very time sensitive . Terrible service
not super impressed with this place. i have liked the providers that I see but scheduling and billing is archaic. they never answer their phone but insist that I call. I tried to email them and then they told me I have to call them. i had an appointment scheduled with them and they called me and left a voicemail saying the doctor couldn't do our agreed upon time and that they moved my appointment to 2 WITHOUT asking or confirming with me.
I wanted to give this review because Customer Service seems to be lacking in this town. I am giving 1 star only for the front desk and billing department at the Salt Lake City location. The doctors are fantastic but when the front desk was cavalier, charged me for a deductible even after I told them I didn't have one and wasn't required. I had to call my insurance company to speak to them, but it will take up to 60 days to get my $ back. I have never had this type of unprofessional behavior concerning my benefits and payments. Again, the Doctors are wonderful, sad to see the front desk could cause the true professionals to lose business.
I've had really good experiences here so far, and based on the other reviews here I think that it might be because I attend telehealth sessions. I've never had trouble scheduling, paying, or getting in touch with anyone. I see Kassidy Lowe, and highly recommend her services. She's very compassionate and has great perspective.
will never be going here again. i had an appointment scheduled for testing, got a confirmation call for my appointment, and when i showed up i waited 30 minutes in the office before they could tell me the guy who was supposed to be doing my testing wasn't in office that day. had to come back the next day and they never gave me paperwork to fill out until the guy questioned them and wasted another 20 minutes of my day. finally get my diagnosis a week later and they are telling me i can't schedule an appointment until i get my recommendation back in two weeks. just for them to not have any appointments halfway through december anyway. so once the two weeks is up they won't have appointments until the new year. absolutely terrible service.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
