List of Francis J. Wapner's Reviews
Had cataracts in both eyes. Diagnosed immediately without any issues, surgery scheduled promptly and healed quickly. Not sure who these bad reviews saw but everyone in the office has always been nothing but professional and friendly. My friend referred me and she loved them as well. I still appreciate her advice to go there cuz all is still great.
All these negative reviews and not warranted! Dr. Wapner is a stand up guy and doctor. Yes, PRK sucks A$$, but it's not anything he has done different from any other surgeon... And yes my eyes were dry for years following, but that will subside in time! He may seemed Rushed, but he does care about your eye sight and will do all he can to improve it... I highly recommend Dr. Wapner and giving him your trust in your eyesight!!!
Everyday I regret the decision to have PRK Lasik vision correction. My eyesight has deteriorated to the point the surgery was almost pointless but what's worse is the extreme pain I find myself in multiple times a week. Ever since the day of surgery I've had extreme dry eyes. And you'd think the solution would be easy - eye drops. And those work well when you're awake but not in the early hours of the morning when you wake up and your eyes feel like sandpaper. No amount of eye drops help at that point. The pain is truly excruciating. It feels like a form of torture. I compare it to being forced to stare at the sun with your eyelids pulled back. The headaches that accompany these episodes are massive and don't subside for hours. My life is worse and Dr Wapner doesn't seem to care. The last time I saw him he brushed my concerns aside, told me to use eye drops, and suggested I had enough cornea to do a touch up surgery. I'm dying of this pain and he doesn't care. I recently heard about a Detroit TV news anchor who committed suicide after laser eye surgery. I sympathize with what she must have went through. Excruciating is the only word that I can come up with. Whatever you do, please avoid elective PRK or Lasik eye surgery. Avoid the loneliness and suffering. Everyone will think you're over reacting and hand you a bottle of visine eye drops - just like Dr Wapner.
My wife and I drove from Montana to Utah to get Lasik and had a fantastic experience at Advanced Eye Care. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you all so much.
I had Lasix surgery 8 years ago. Everything is perfect with my with my eyes. I feel very safe in his care. I just had cataract surgery on both eyes , Having great vision
Not very nice staff (in the back) and the Dr DID NOT EVEN LOOK AT MY EYES. The girl that took me back RUSHED through my appointment and was not friendly AT ALL. Come to find out, the reason why she was in a hurry, is because it was time for her to be off- she wanted to leave. Unfortunately, now i have to wait until next year and have my eyes looked at again, and my concerns addressed. Nobody asked me if I have any concerns or anything. But the Dr sure was quick to suggest to come back for Lasik. A Lead Tech called to apologize and that is the only reason for the 1 Star-otherwise it would be a 0. Don't waste your time here. Find another Dr.
I share the sentiment of several other reviews. He was in a hurry. I felt like I paid $20 (copay) and took off work early for nothing. I tried to tell him that I had already done what he was suggesting without any positive results, but could tell he was done with me for that visit and was asking me to reschedule for 5 days later. Ultimately I decided not to go back. He was recommended by another doctor that I trust, but as a new patient I didn't feel valued or cared for.
Outstanding!!! Had cataracts done, husband and granddaughter lazic. We are all so happy with the results. Thumbs up!
Both my son and I have seeing Dr. Wapner for our annual eye exams. No more. He doesn't give you the time of day and his staff is not friendly.
I would caution any patient of Dr. Wapner to get a second opinion if surgery is recommended. Dr. Wapner indicated that I needed cataract surgery on both eyes, and was in the process of setting up a pre-surgical appointment. I had concerns and scheduled a 2nd opinion appointment with a recognized eye surgeon at a major eye clinic . That Dr. indicated that surgery was not yet appropriate. Be careful folks! Get that 2nd opinion!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
