List of James Pingree's Reviews
My experience with Dr Pingree was great. He has a wonderful bedside manner. Very professional and knowledgeable. He made me feel at ease during my appointment.
I just wanted to say that I met with Dr. Pingree yesterday, and could not have been more impressed with him, both for the time he took with me to explain my options, but genuinely cared about what I had to say. I have had three back surgeries previously, one of which was a fusion. When my symptoms started progressing again (after my fusion in 2017), I initially called the surgeon who performed my fusion, but who is no longer practicing here. Since he was not an option, in 2022, I met with three different back surgeons trying to find one that I felt comfortable with, and who would take some time to go through some options for me. Two of the appointments were literally about 5 minutes in length. The third appointment, was not with the surgeon, but with his PA who rounded out the roughly 5 minute appointment structure. By the fall of 2022, I was at the point of no longer trying to find someone I felt comfortable with. After two strong recommendations to see Dr. Pingree, I actually changed my insurance plan, so I was able to see Dr. Pingree. I am so thankful that I did! Once again, I was extremely impressed with him in all ways. Thank you Dr. Pingree!!
The New reseptionist is horrible, rude, waited over an hour while 4 others came in and were called back right away. Maybe because we traveled from out of town and arrived early. Still waiting to see the Dr. update when or if we ever get in there
I just wanted to Thank All of the people who took the time to write a review for Dr. Pingree. The good ones, and the bad ones. They helped me make a final decision about surgery #19 for me. I have had a bad feeling about this surgery for a long time. But after reading All of the reviews I have decided to Trust Dr. Pingree and his staff with a surgery that I have been dreading for years. And I thank All of you.
He is the only one that would take the time to listen to my concerns and problems, it took almost 14 years to fix a problem that I have been living with. I highly highly recommend him. He is the best surgeon in utah.
very bad Dr performing spine surgery on any one. I was left with extreme Pain did not explain any thing about sawing my vertebrae or expaining to me why I should wear bone stimulator. I ask the salesman why? He said Dr Pingree told me to tell you????? Does that explain why he is neither fair or honest.
Jonathan (PA), Dr. Pingree, and every member of the staff have been phenomenal. They are thorough and genuinely care about improving people’s lives—that is evident in every interaction. I had a cervical fusion at age 20, and thirteen years later it appeared it was time to pay the piper, which my first surgeon suggested was likely to happen. Jonathan Middlemiss, who is both an incredible human and medical professional, took a conservative approach to addressing my symptoms before we determined together that an ADR was appropriate. Dr. Pingree comes highly recommended by others I spoke to, and I am happy to endorse him for his surgical skill and concern for patient outcomes. I truly believe the folks at Wasatch Neurosurgery and Spine Associates are committed to their mission statement, and I am thankful to have received the highest level of care from them.
After consulting with other surgeons, I chose Dr. Pingree. He took the time to listen and recommended the best option for my surgery. He did an L4/L5 Spinal Decompression, outpatient. 3 weeks post-surgery I feel so much better. When I called to ask questions Dr. Pingree and his PA both spoke with me and at my post surgical follow up both met with me as well.
In short, after 2-lumbar fusions in 3 years. I was told by his PA CALEB JACKSON that I should go to a different Neurosurgeon, even with my spine continuing to get worse! Just because the say I’m not a surgical candidate at the time! Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t his office claim to practice non- invasive procedures???? I’m at a LOSS AS TO WHAT TO DO NOW AND IM CURRENTLY BED BOUND!!!!!! NOT ONLY AM I EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED BUT IM ALSO VERY ANGRY THAT HIS OFFICE AND MY SO CALLED CARE TEAM HAS TURNED THEIR BACKS ON ME!!!!!!
I will be back to finish this review on Dr Pingree. I found him to be absolutely unethical, unhelpful, and unprofessional during my visit. I’ve had to wait a couple years at the advice of my attorney, until my case was over before I put this out there. My insurance company will finally be notified about paying for services that Dr Pingree didn’t perform. Yes, I am angry but truth always comes out.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
