List of Joel T Trachtenberg's Reviews
When I had my appointment with him he walked in screaming and humiliating me in front of his medical assistant saying why didn’t I had done my labs, I felt humiliated and looked down on. I understand it was my fault for not getting my labs done prior but that’s no way to talk to your patients or any human being for that matter. Please do your research and find out who your future doctor is so this never happens to you.
Well, I have to say after reading these other reviews, that my experience was very good. Not only was he knowledgeable, but he talked to us at my level and was never condescending. He answered all of our questions in a very personal, but professional way. He was very encouraging and optimistic. We felt like friends, and came recommended from a top-tier respected orthopedics group. We were not disappointed. His nurse was also, warm and personable.
Hands down the worst doctor I have ever dealt with. Terrible communication skills, he talked down to me and could not give me clear answers to any of my basic questions. These are questions directly related to his "area of expertise", such as interpretation of lab results. I had 2 phone appointments where I called and he hadn't even seen my lab results that were taken by a home nurse. I was still charged for those "visits" even though he had absolutely nothing to offer or to say about the life threatening infection I was dealing with. On the 3rd visit he couldn't even tell me what any of the results meant. I was able to talk with retired nurses I know and they were able to tell me what each meant in terms of my health and my progress. This doctor offered literally nothing. Nothing but prescribing extremely expensive drugs that resulted in massive bills that were billed by his office. Obviously a conflict of interest there. I would give zero stars if I could. Avoid this doctor.
The worst doctor I have ever dealt with. AVOID THIS DOCTOR AND HIS OFFICE. Terrible communication skills. He did nothing for me but prescribe drugs. He didn't know how to read my lab results, which were the only thing he had to go on to base any decision upon. When pressed about details of the labs he got angry because it was clear he didn't know what the numbers and letters meant. I had to consult ...
I had to consult actual doctors and nurses to get any sort of explanation about my life threatening infection. This guy was a complete joke.
I am very fortunate to find Dr T. He is an excellent Specialist that cares for your health and welfare. He has gone above and beyond with me as a patient learning about my personal life and cares. I was hesitant to see him when I saw some negative reviews, yet reply as an advocate for Dr T as his approach and expertise is just what I need. Appreciate him.
When I had a failed infusion treatment, I asked "Do I still have infection". He replied, "I don't care" and walked off! This guy would not even make a good vet. He would be bitten by every dog and scratched by every cat!! Advice: find a humane infectious disease doctor.
Rude, arrogant, pushy. Absolute jerk of a human being; saw him once and will never see him again.
Excellent Specialist. I highly recommend him. His is educated and cares. He is just what I need from a specialist.
He is very difficult to talk with. And a huge phone hog (bully). Sounds as if he is well versed in his field but lacks bed side manner, which is hard to take when treated so well by the rest of the staff, to include nurses , doctors, food and cleaning crew.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
