List of Robert J. Cionni Md's Reviews
I had Cionni Rings implants in 1999 at the Cincinnati Eye institute. they became hard and they detached. I had to have them removed. I had to endure painful surgery x 2 in 2013.
Had cataracts removed on both eyes and so far so good! It’s not even been 48 hours and I’m reading pretty well without my bifocal glasses. I feel a little naked without them as it’s been 35 years but that’s nothing to do with the care I got!
I had an ICL surgery with Dr. Cionni to correct my vision. Several things went wrong during the surgery including a cannula coming off a syringe and damaging my left eye. I knew that something was wrong, but Dr. Cionni did not take me seriously or spend time with me. I asked him what happened and he said he didn't know what I was talking about even though there was a detailed description in the medical records. I showed a video of the surgery to another surgeon and she instantly knew what happened. She also looked closely at my eyes and found a problem with the ICL lenses. She promptly called Dr. Cionni and told him the lenses needed to be removed immediately. I was at risk of developing cataracts. Dr. Cionni was not honest with me and put his own interest over my health and safety. Odds things will go smoothly and will have a good experience with Dr. Cionni, but if things go wrong he is not trustworthy. I would not recommend him to anyone.

There is risk in everything and you want a surgeon who is ethical and can be trusted.

A huge thank you to Dr. Cionni and all the staff at Eye Institute of Utah for my recent cataract surgery. I am 100% pleased with my new, excellent vision. I was somewhat anxious about going through the procedure, but as I went through the preliminary exam, the preparation for surgery, the surgery itself, and post-op care, I found everyone involved to be expert and thorough as well as kind and helpful. I felt very well prepared and all my questions were answered. The procedure itself was so remarkably easy, I found there was no reason for me to worry. I felt no pain and found the experience to be actually quite interesting. My regular eye doctor had recommended Dr. Cionni, a leading expert known world-wide for his work in cataract surgery. I took the time to read up on several doctors before making my choice. I am now very pleased I had Dr. Cionni do my surgery. He explained my options carefully and listened to my wishes and concerns. In the end, I received the best care possible resulting in a pleasant experience and the excellent vision I now enjoy. To anyone needing cataract surgery, I recommend you consider Dr. Cionne and Eye Institute of Utah.
Excellent results for Cataracts in both eyes, correction for Astigmatism and Presbyopia both eyes. Couldn't be happier !!
Outstanding. Answers questions and explains procedures fully. I like him!
I recently had cataract surgery with Dr. Cionni. We are from out-of-state, and flew in specifically to see Dr. Cionni as there were some eye issues that made this a more difficult surgery. He and his staff were highly professional, kind and supportive. I was kept well-informed prior to the surgery, as well as through the prep and follow-up. It went very well, and I would highly recommend Dr. Cionni as well as the Eye Institute.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
