I met with Dr. Mawhinney. He was very kind and listened to me. He also worked with me to schedule my surgery before the end of the year so it would be paid for by my insurance. However, after I had surgery, I was still having a significant amount of pain 8 days post op. I contacted his office and spoke to his nurse, which completely dismissed me. He made sure to tell me that Dr. Mawhinney "does not do refills on pain meds at this point" at least three times during the phone call. As it said in my discharge instructions, I was supposed to call and speak to him if I had any issues and if my pain had worsened, which it had. I was given some lame excuse and told that I just needed to wait for my appointment to see him. I felt extremely dismissed and not taken care of by his staff. Utter chaos. No clear directions on where to go, phone numbers that do not go to the right office and no coordination. Stay away if possible until hospital is done with construction

Overall my outpatient surgery met expectations for patient care. I was called and told to come to my surgery early, which was nice, but my surgeon didn't arrive until my surgery was originally scheduled to start anyway. Overall my outpatient surgery met expectations for patient care. I was called and told to come to my surgery early, which was nice, but my surgeon didn't arrive until my surgery was originally scheduled to start anyway. I'm partial to Altaview Plastic Surgery Specialists because I worked there for a short time, but I was also a patient, and I received excellent information and care. Dr. Hancey did a great job and the whole office awesome.
