David Beckstead's Online Review Report Card

updates below. Granted I like Dr. Beckstead as a doctor. He mentioned he does allergy treatment. I knew my insurance would not cover it so I asked for the cost. He said it would vary a bit depending on how many allergys would be treated: "I bill the insurance about $800 a year for the treatment" It would be 3-5 years of treatment. I was very clear that my insurance would not cover it and asked again. He was very specific that he did not know what the insurance would cover but he would bill about $800 to the insurance. The problem They are billing my insurance about $2300 for the first year. I confronted Dr. Beckstead about this and he said that the $800 a year was for the medicine only. He assumed that the insurance would cover the cost for administration so he just did not tell me about it at all. I told him my insurance would not cover anything and he was very clear in the beginning that the "treatment" would cost "$800" It was deceptive to soft quote the treatment to be $800 but then charge almost 3x as much for the full service. He did offer some options like only get treatments 2 times a month instead of the recommended 8 times. This just feels like I would pay less but get less also. UPDATE Dr. Beckstead made a packet that included all the cost for me. This packet was accurate and I believe he will give the same info for new patients. For this effort, I upgraded from 1 star to 3. This won't help me as the bill already came and I already invested in the treatment but I have confidence that others will have the info I did not UPDATE #2 I have been with Dr. Beckstead for 2 years now. The treatments worked great. The cost was worth the service, and I have changed it to 5 stars.

I like dr beckstead so much! He is a good listener and is informative without being condescending. I never have any trouble talking to him about anything I might be having trouble with.

Dr. Beckstead is wonderful.

One of most understanding, caring, & willingness to help Dr I have seen. He is always willing to try things to help with my chronic condition give suggestions and ideas to try to help. Willing to try new things to help. He listens and hears what you have to say. The wait time is always very minimal. When blood work is needed it's right in the office next to him in same facility so that makes it much more convenient as well. Easy to reach through the patient portal and very responsive.

Dr. Beckstead is very nice, friendly, and listens with interest to any problems. He is very thorough, and with every diagnosis, he has found a way to help or solve the problem, or refers and gets us access to a specialist. And he is very prompt in answering any question or concern I have, through patient portal. So I feel like I have quick access to him at all times. My husband and I both really like Dr. Beckstead as our primary care physician!

Dr. Beckstead has been our family doctor for almost 5 years, and he’s been great for us. We’re kind of a bunch of weirdos, and he’s always been up for the challenge.

Dr. David Beckstead has been an outstanding doctor! He truly listens to his clients, and does everything in his power to help. Such a great doctor to work with.

I accompanied my adult son to an appointment with Dr David Beckstead. My son has seen many doctors in an attempt to find answers for his chronic nausea, fatigue, and arm and chest pain. Dr Beckstead listened and reviewed the history, the things we'd tried, the tests my son had undergone. Then, he surprised is by suddenly saying, "Don't take this the wrong way, but I think I should just warn you that someday you're going to meet a doctor who will suggest this is all in your head." It was out of context - didn't fit our discussion at all. My son and I looked at each other, and later confirmed we were thinking the same thing: "We've just met the doctor that he is describing; it's himself." He didn't have solutions, so he played psychiatrist. That's quite brave of him - and either quite ignorant or quite callous. Knowing my son's history, and in the absence of other guesses, the doctor would have been far more likely to be correct by suggesting the symptoms were the result of quitting the ssri cold turkey.
