List of Steven Nance's Reviews
I was really disappointed with my experience here. I heard so many good things about both Dr. Nance and his son but was extremely let down. They are just so busy- my experience never felt personal, they didn’t know (or care) who I was. They overlooked important information that could have put me in my baby in danger. I was rushed in and out of appointments and my concerns were usually met with a “sounds like pregnancy” type answer. They don’t leave you time to ask questions or say anything at all really before walking out the door. I am not the type to leave a negative review anywhere.. but I switched to a new doctor for my second pregnancy and I can’t believe how much better every part of it was. They took the time to answer my questions, knew who I was, made me feel like me and my baby were important to them. It was a completely different experience. Dr. Jeff (the younger doctor) was okay, but I only met with him a couple times. When I asked if I could have him as my only doctor I was met with a very cold no. It sounds like this happens frequently. There is a lot more I could say, but reading the other reviews, most of it has already been said. Dr. Steven Nance NEEDS to retire before he does any more damage to his patients. Especially first time moms like I was that don’t know any better. Find a new doctor! You deserve better.
I tried to schedule an appointment for a pregnancy. I have severe issues early in pregnancy. I told them that and that it was important to be seen earlier than the appointment that was offered (about a month away). I had reason to believe (ahem periods) that I was further along. However the front desk person was cold and decided that she can play with your health and decided that there is nothing she can do for a month. I have never had a front desk person decide she was qualified to make health care decisions. She heard that I had just tested and decided I must only be a month along. ANY OBGYN that cannot see you for a month for extenuating circumstances is not a safe OBGYN to go to - for you or your baby.
Amazing staff. Always such great experiences going to them!
This is a long review due to some serious health conditions that were neglected and overlooked by the doctors and office staff at this facility. But this is an important read!!! Unfortunately every-time I think of this place it makes me sick to my stomach. Thinking about what might have happened if I would have stayed to deliver with these doctors makes me sick to my stomach knowing what I know now. My baby is now 9 months old. At first I loved this office! They were so kind and nice. However once I had questions or concerns I felt like a bother and they thought I was just an overly concerned new mom. It started when I had visual changes. I let Jeff Nance know but he said it wasn't a concern due to my blood pressure being okay at the time. Then at 34 weeks pregnant I passed out at work in our staff meeting and was rushed to the ER. I was told at the time I had hypotension. My blood pressure was dropping when I was changing positions. I went to see the office the next day due to the concern the ER had. Steve Nance was the doctor at that visit. HE LAUGHED at my husband and I and told us that if we would have called he would have told us not to go to the ER!! Then he started telling us stories of patients that had it worse and had passed out while driving cars!!! We left that appointment scared for the safety of our baby but scheduled our 36 week appointment. not knowing that we wouldn't be seeing another OB until 38 WEEKS! I passed out 3 other times before seeing another doctor. But following doctors orders we would put my feet up and just make sure we felt the baby move after. The week of my 36 week appointment I came down with a cold, I called the office and let them know that I had a cold. They told me that I needed to reschedule and that I couldn't come in. I told them my concerns with my blood pressure but they refused! They didn't even recommend having a doctor check me for covid or even make sure my baby was okay. They told me to call back when I was symptom free for 3 days straight. I COULD HAVE MY BABY AT ANY TIME! i also was having fainting and blood pressure issues. I called a family doctor down the street who had me come to them immediately!! they came out to my car with a blood pressure cuff and made sure my baby and I were okay and ordered tests! They were very shocked that my OB's office refused to schedule me an appointment with my health issues. This doctor has never seen me before by the way! The next day I had a negative covid test and was feeling better I pretty much just had a runny nose. I called the office again. They still refused to see me! She said I needed to be symptom free for three days straight before I could make an appointment including a runny nose! I was done being nice. I still did not get an appointment. I got put on hold after fighting on the phone but by that time I had to get back to my job. My husband called and the secretary was so rude to him and let him know that I hung up while on hold. Not once would she even talk to the doctors. After a few phone calls I found an OB willing to take me in at 37 weeks pregnant but I couldn't get in until 38 weeks. I have not seen a doctor since 34 weeks pregnant due to the Nance's office. Unfortunately due to my health issues it was not safe to have my baby vaginally and we had to have a C-section at 39 weeks because of low blood pressure issues putting the baby and I at risk. Remember those vision issues that weren't a problem.... Well I finally went and got those checked because they never went away. Those actually were an indicator that I have extra pressure in my skull putting pressure on my brain and eyes which can be very dangerous for pregnant women. This could have been the cause of the all the issues I had during my pregnancy. I have a disorder called Idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension. Symptoms started during my pregnancy but were ignored by my doctors at the time the Nances!!I suggested choosing other OBGYNs that will care for you and your baby the right way.
Love the nances they are so good with their patients
I love dr nance! My first two babies he helped me through it both! Currently on my third pregnancy and I went somewhere closer to my home but they didn’t match the standards of service dr nance gave me so now I drive 45 minutes just have dr nance be my OBGYN! That’s how good of a dr him and his son are! Five star for sure!
Dr. Nance was extremely kind and thorough. I ended up moving at 28 weeks pregnant and was nervous switching OB's. From the minute he walked in and sat down my mind was at ease. He was so kind and gentle as well as very thorough. I felt safe and respected during my visit and will be happy to continue care with him!
Doctor Nance is unfortunately a doctor that my wife and I are not coming back to. My wife recently has a miscarriage and had to go to the ER 2 times in a week. Both times they told us to schedule a follow up appointment with our OB and doctor Nance told us both times that an appointment is not necessary and that we should wait. He has not seen my wife once throughout the miscarriage process. Has not prescribed any pain medication and has not been understanding and helpful filling out 3 papers for me to get 2 weeks of work so I can help my wife recover and be a support for her during this hard time. He keeps saying is not medical necessary and nobody should get 2 weeks of because of a miscarriage, but he has not seen my wife once, how can he know her symptoms, pain, etc without seeing her? Please if you need a doctor that cares about you and your family DO NOT GO TO Dr Nance.
I would highly recommend the Nance’s as your doctors. This is my 4th baby and I wish I would have gone to them for all of them! Every appointment, I felt like they were helpful and caring. I had both of them during appointments but Steve delivered my baby and it was one of the easiest deliveries of all 4 of my children. He was calm and I truly felt like he cared to listen to all of my concerns and needs. Jeff is very caring and supportive too. I have been to other Valley Ob offices and this one is by far the best!
Positive experience every time I went. Staff was super kind and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
