Excellent care and really listens to issues. I have worked in the ophthalmology field since 1981, so I know great care when I see it. When it was time for an eye exam, I followed him to Abingdon when he started on at Eye Physicians of Southwest Virginia. Thorough, kind, caring and most of all, down to earth. He really CARES about his patients. Go see him, I promise you will not be disappointed!

Dr. Taylor is very competent but forces patients to wait over one hour and 15 minutes and then rushes thru the appt—unaware of the many eye drops he has prescribed or which ones I’m on now. Glaucoma is serious, and I’m not sure if things will get better. The long-haired nurse needs to take lessons in cordiality as well. She’s void of friendliness, operating without eye contact. The male assistant—usually friendly—needs to arrive on time to the appointment. We are keeping a well-known ophthalmologist at ETSU apprised of what occurs each visit.

I had the misfortune of my appointment happening immediately after a more difficult patient or patients before me. Dr. Taylor appologized for my longer than usual wait, which was at least 30 minutes after I was dilated. Frankly I felt my exam, although thorough, was rushed. I am now 70 and have had annual eye exams since age 4. Frankly I have never felt so pressed. Seriously. On top of everything the check out woman was insisting on my paying for the visit which I had already established on check-in is 100% covered by my health insurance. I won't be back.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Taylor’s for a few years. Each visit has been the same. He is friendly, thorough in his exam and answers questions thoughtfully. The staff has also been excellent.
