Lewis B Eberly Md's Online Review Report Card

I’ve been seeing Dr. Eberly for over 12 years. He is patient, kind, always willing to listen and answers questions. He looks you in the eye when speaking with you and doesn’t rush. I find this an admirable trait.

I made an appointment at the end of January to see Dr. Everly. Next available was end of May. Just got a call to say that Dr. Everly is no longer going to be in the office and I had to reschedule. Got bumped all the end of the line and they tried to rebook me in July! Ridiculous!

Dr. Eberly was the least caring and knowledgeable doctor I have ever been to. He was 35 minutes late to my appointment. Spent the first 15 minutes typing on his computer without even glancing at me, 10 minutes testing my reflexes and asking a few questions, and 5 minutes dismissing my questions. He offered no diagnosis of my neurological pain beyond saying they were tension headaches. He lacked any empathy and simply asked me "What's your concern?" My concern is that I have severe head pain and have been unable to find any relief for 8 months. He offered no treatment plan beyond coming back in 3 months to see how I am doing then. As I was still asking questions, he stood up to leave the room. Apparently, he was done with me and done with my questions as I had reached the 30 minute time limit of my appointment.

The doctors themselves are wonderful and I always feel like I'm getting great care.... but the office staff are so terrible I wish I could go back and never start coming to this office. I have currently been on hold for 25 minutes waiting to make and appointment and ask a question... this is 100% the norm and has always been the case no matter the time or day! They also take days to return messages, have had difficulty sending my prescriptions where they need to go and are generally rude. I would suggest going to a different office its torture!

Dr. Eberly is excellent. Unfortunately his INOVA Neurology staff is awful. It has been impossible for Express Scripts and me to contact a human being to get a prescription refill switched to Express Scripts. We leave phone messages and send faxes, but get no response. I cannot believe how awful they are.

Dr. Eberly was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, understanding, willing to take the time need to make sure I understood my situation. He confirmed what my primary care physician suspected was the problem and is doing the necessary tests to resolve all issues.

I can’t speak for others, but my personal experiences have always been positive and pleasant. Dr. Eberly is easy to talk to/with. He listens and I appreciate that more than anything! Like most hospitals, things can get little busy when you have a small office staff, yet I was never kept waiting for too long. I appreciate how they follow up with your patient visit and health info. through their portal. It a very helpful resources for communicating and scheduling appointments (given that phone messages can take up to 48-72 hrs). I especially love getting the free INOVA lip balms during the checkout!

Dr. Eberly was incredibly dismissive towards me and was nearly impossible to get in contact with. I waited months for my sleep study results that were supposed to take a week (I later found out he had gone on a long vacation, meanwhile I was waiting by the phone for potentially life-altering results). When I saw him after this he didn't even acknowledge the waiting I had done or say anything, just continued on like normal. This whole practice has very poor patient service and I never felt like they actually cared about me (though the front desk staff were usually cool).
