List of Rosa Guerreiro's Reviews
I've been seeing Dr. Guerreiro for years and she is fantastic! For years I've been complaining about my vision while driving at night and nobody would listen or knew the issue. She figured it out right away and gave me a prescription that seriously saved my life. I bring my whole family to her. I trust her completely. She is extra! :)PS- I don't know why people associate the office staff with the doctor. The two are not connected. If the office staff is bad, take it up with the company not the doctor!
Great
Had one of the worse eye problems in my life, which turned out to be a major cornea abrasion, and Dr. Rosa was able to take me back quickly and assure me that everything was going to be okay. My vision is back to normal and Dr. Rosa earned my trust for eyecare!
Dr. Guerreiro is very nice and does a good job but needs to stay out of the sales while the rest of the office needs serious training and people skills. If you employees at the MyEyeDoc on Duke street read this PLEASE be humble and take some advise from a salesman. You need training. You can't pressure people for a sale and expect them to buy much less come back again. Really?? would you? Start out by saying you'll compete with any other competitor for glasses and contacts. Give customers your best price and tell them to "buy when you're ready and we'll fill your prescription fast" and do it. YOU NEED TO BE MORE TRANSPARENT. You come across like your up to something. When you "sales people" figured out I was buying my glasses and contacts elsewhere (simply because I didn't trust you) you went back and tattled to Dr. Guerreiro who looked at me with this worried look. The whole thing was pathetic and unprofessional, really... I'm sorry to say I won't be back. Your choice to survive is either humbleness or blissful ignorance.
My husband and I have both had good experiences at this office. We see Dr. Nguyen and love her. She is smart, energetic and seems to care about her patients. This office is located in highly populated area of Alexandria, VA so it seems to reason that it is busy. However, we have never had to wait beyond our scheduled appointment time.
I'm so disappointed in the myeyedr of Alexandria office that Dr. Guerreiro has chosen in Alexandria. I scheduled an appointment 2 weeks prior to my visit.Upon arrival was told that I was going to have to wait "at least 30 minutes" or longer before seeing the doctor because they had several walk-ins. When I shared with the office that I had another appointment in an hour and a half, I was told that there was no way I would make it. I understand the benefit of offering walk-ins, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that you ask the walk-ins to wait and accept the scheduled appointments first. To make matters worse, Dr. Guerreiro walked by and heard the conversation... and said, "come back, I can see you right now" (which would have been at the time of my appointment). But, the office staff stopped her and said no... they did not do the pre-work with me. Seriously... the doctor can't do a quick blood pressure check??? She DOES have the medical education and I'm certain she could have handled it.I tried to reschedule in the next two days I had left before traveling for work, but I was told there was nothing available. When I explained to the staff that I could not reschedule again until June because of my work, they basically told me that I should look elsewhere. They didn't even flinch or try to persuade me to stay when I asked for a copy of my prescription and paperwork from the file. I really enjoyed my first visit with Dr. Guerreiro (which was at a different office) and thought I had found a good eye doctor to stick with. Unfortunately, she has lost my business because of the poor office staff that she chose to handle her patients. She should fire the office manager and train her staff on how to retain customers. They had NO interest in keeping my business. Although Dr. Guerreiro seemed to be a good eye doctor, I advise others to NOT go to the Alexandria myeyedr office on Duke Street. The staff is horrible!
I have been going here for the last 6 years and I have never had a bad experience. I travel from the Maryland area to make my appointments. Dr. G. is great and i have never had any problems or complaints. She lets me know everything she is doing and makes the visit very pleasant. I wish all my Dr. appointments went this well!
Went here since I didn't have time to go to my regular ophthalmologist for a full exam, but really needed new contacts. It was fine for optometrist. I will continue to see my Ophthalmologist for eye health but when you run out of contacts and don't have time to make an appointment then this is an okay alternative. I agree with others that her receptionist isn't the greatest.
I have been going to Dr. Rosa Guerreiro for years now. She is a great eye doctor and very personable. A year ago I tried to visit her but it was a Thursday and I didn't realize the office was closed on Thursdays. So I decided to go to a close by other eye doctor, aka MyEyeDoctor down Duke St. They overcharged me, wanted me to keep coming back, never gave me a prescription, and even sent me home with contacts that were way too big for my eyes (I was lucky I got home safely driving). Dr. Rosa is a wonderful eye doctor and when I recently returned to her in early April of this year, all went well. I was not overcharged, and I had friendly, reliable service, and will never go anywhere else ever again... Wendy
I've been going to Dr. Guerreiro for over 5 years now. She's great. Friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly, fast. She speaks Portuguese and Spanish, and her assistants usually speak at least Spanish as well. Maybe other people have had bad experiences the only time they've gone, and I'm sorry they did. But in the years I've been going there, I've had nothing but good experiences.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
