I went to the ER at Mt. Vernon after having a minor surgery at Fairfax Hospital two days before. Before this, Patient First, my primary doctor, and the surgeon for my operation ignored the fact that I was in a lot of pain. All of my muscles were extremely stiff and felt on fire. Dr. Palace took some blood, urine, and performed a cat scan. He was able to figure it that since I had a hard time waking up from my Surgery two days earlier that I had Traumatic Rhabdomyolysis. It's a syndrome due to a direct muscle injury. It results from the death of muscle fibers and release of their contents into the bloodstream. He gave me pain medication, unlike the other doctors who told me 600mg ibuprofen would help (but didn't at all). He also told me to drink Gatorade and potassium rich foods. One day later and I'm able to walk up stairs with out help finally. He also pointed out that I have kidney stones (unrelated, but good to know). Thank you Dr. Palace! I went to the ER at Mt. Dr. Palace has treated me a number of times. He is by far the most thorough, dedicated and experienced physician I have ever seen. He is compassionate. He takes the time to review your history, symptoms and diagnostic tests. He discusses everything with you with an eye to ensuring that you get the best medical treatment and outcome. Dr. Palace is truly committed to his work and those he treats. Mt. Vernon is blessed to have him.

William Palace, md attended to a friend of mine at Mt. Vernon and I have never met such a cold, uncaring doctor!! He was willing to discharge my friend at 12:30am and she and I both insisted that she stay at least overnight!! Mr. Palace was nasty and rude but finally agreed to have her stay over. Well, the morning Dr. discovered problems which, apparently, Mr. Palace did not find or did not care and, as a result, my friend had to stay over one more night. I can't understand why Mr. Palace chose the medical field as a career since it is obvious he does not care about people.
