STAY AWAY!!!! Nice during consult and RUDE on day of ops and post op. Had to threaten to call 911 or go the ER for help from post-surgery complications. Had to go to another doctor to fix my breast from her surgery.

PLEASE STAY AWAY. She is not well and needs to be reported to the medical board. She (and her staff) also committed insurance fraud post the mess the made during my post-cancer reconstruction. Besides a horrific outcome, after having been through a double mastectomy and reconstruction, her lack of compassion and horrific personality were so distasteful and reflective of her lack of stability. "These implants would look great on someone half your size." I will just leave that there. I am still trying to fix the mess she made. I have a daily reminder of her being in over her head and her absolute incompetence until I can come out of the trauma and have someone else fix it. But to go to sleep again and let someone do to me what she did - I cannot see that happening. You have been warned.

This Dr. does NOT have basic human emotions. She talked down to me and insulted me for being over weight. She did a messed up procedure on me that resulted in my body looking like crap and she blamed me for being overweight. DO NOT USE this Dr. Stay away from her private practice and all the other places she uses just to make money, especially sono bello. If I could rate her lower, I would.

I had a breast reduction done in winter 2014 and can I just say, Dr. Nickodem gave me confidence in a body that I didn’t think was possible. I don’t know if people realize what a big deal that is and how that affects every single aspect of your life. I’ve gained a little weight over the years but they’re as perfect, lifted and size 34 C-ish as ever. I was 32G prior to surgery. This surgery was the best decision I ever made and Dr. Nickodem is a true artist. I also would like to mention that on February 13, 2014 there was a huge snowstorm and other patients cancelled their surgeries. At dawn, Dr.Nickodem called me personally to see if I was still down. Hell yeah. 10 out of 10 would do again.

Horrible experience. I have never had worse experience with a doctor. I thought of reporting her to the medical board.

She doesn't like people that are overweight. Her beside manner is seriously lacking. He office staff in NoVa is shoved in a little corner of another Doctors office and they don't seem to really have it together. I was promised a date by the doctor and the staff said for me to call back in a couple of weeks to set it up. When I called back the date was no longer available. I wanted to have my last surgery before the end of the year so I wouldn't have to pay another deductible. They finally found a spot just before Christmas. My reconstruction is not what I expected but that might be the best I can get after cancer. I felt like she did what she wanted and didn't really care what I had to say. I would look for someone that seems to care about her patients.

Frankly, I am quite surprised Dr Nickodem has received positive reviews. I am assuming these are primarily patients for cosmetic, as opposed to breast reconstruction, procedures. She did nothing short of butcher me to the point of my being deformed and scarred than before I came to her. She gives a perfunctory, dishonest "informed consent" discussion since post op, I awoke to see she'd not done the procedure I knew was necessary (given inelastic breast tissue secondary to radiation) and instead did the likely cheapest, easiest procedure she could do, one totally inappropriate for the reality of the affected breast. She placed an implant in the healthy breast during the first surgery, a ridiculous thing to do since she wasn't even certain what the affected breast size and shape would ultimately be after reconstructive procedures would be completed. She was very inappropriate as a medical professional by complaining to me (she knew I was a registered nurse) about not having been increased in reimbursement for over 5 years by my particular insurer (a decent one). SHE LEFT ME GROSSLY DEFORMED to the point that I stopped going to her before she was even fully done with my reconstruction. I sent photos (pre & post) to my insurer and, within 2 days, won my appeal to go out-of-network to an excellent, skilled plastic surgeon who, amazingly, was able to correct the deformities and do the flap procedure that I knew I'd needed at the onset of this experience. ALSO, I had an emergency a few days post op that required me to call her after-hours emergency line WHICH NO ONE ANSWERED. I finally called the breast cancer specialist who'd unfortunately referred me to her (since the other doctor who she, too, preferred, was not in my insurer's network) so that she could call Dr Nickodem's personal phone # to have her call me. RIDICULOUS & DANGEROUS! Dr Nickodem runs a "bare bones" practice, with no PA or NP, NO answering service, and NO professional ethic! FIND SOMEONE ELSE!

This Dr is a butcher. Run!!!

Overheard her yelling at her staff and bedside manner a bit harsh. Makes no effort at follow-up.
