Discovary allowed chikdren to get in car with safe memers person car and they had 7 differwnt vapes and left the other kids allown in the house. Parents we’re not notified. My son told us when we were in family therapy. And then coordinator Carol Williams likes to blame everybody else then to take accountability.. my son wanted girl sheets, and they refuse to allow him to have them. staff doesn’t follow the rules but then one the coordinator comes. I’ll hell breaks out in the morning when all the bosses are there because they’re not following the rules when they’re not there they’re more relaxed to pray on the kids vulnerabilities. Stay away from this place. @ 795 Eden Plains Road Brentwood, CA 94513
Update 12/17: After spending almost two years dealing with this accounting department, or lack there of, they have still been completely incapable of submitting the the secondary insurance (supposedly an "IT issue") and continue to tell me I owe nothing, but then sending random amounts to be collected to a collection agency. Now it's $938.70. This company is insane. I cannot recommend enough not doing business with them or you will be dealing with them for years. A Nightmare with Discovery's Billing and Leadership While my son's medical treatment was acceptable, my experience with Discovery's administrative and financial departments has been an unmitigated disaster. For nearly two years, I've been relentlessly trying to get them to submit a claim to my son's secondary insurance. Despite countless emails and phone calls, I've been met with an endless cycle of excuses, including claims of missed emails, misdirected communications, and empty promises of escalation and follow-up within 24 hours—promises that were never fulfilled. This gross incompetence has resulted in me paying approximately $3,000 out of pocket. To compound this frustration, Discovery inexplicably sent a fraudulent charge of over $400 to a collections agency. When I disputed this erroneous claim, the collection agency itself confirmed that Discovery verified the amount was invalid and ceased their collection efforts. It's clear that Discovery's insurance billing, accounting practices, and overall leadership are severely dysfunctional. Their operational failures have caused significant financial strain and immense personal frustration.
Our family entrusted Discovery’s Dripping Springs facility with our son’s care during a mental health crisis. What we received was inconsistent communication, poor clinical coordination, and repeated safety failures. Even after a serious self-harm incident and drug ingestion, we were left scrambling to coordinate his discharge ourselves—with no management present and no clinical handoff. Discovery’s formal response not only deflects responsibility, but attempts to shift blame onto a struggling teen and his family. Proceed with caution.
My 15 year old is bipolar, she has had symptoms since she was 4 which they thought was ADHD, symptoms began to increase around the age of 11 during Covid. She wasn't diagnosed until she was 14, after a physical altercation at home. Not to mention several specific traumatic events she had been through. In 2024 she had two suicide attempts and every program I found was centered around drug abuse. I didn't want her going into a program and coming out with a problem she didn't already have. Christmas Eve she went back into the hospital following her 2nd suicide attempt and I knew she needed more help. Thankfully, I found Discovery, they were amazing and responsive in getting her enrolled. While most kids had been in the hospital for months waiting for a bed, she had a bed in RTC within 2 weeks. Once you drop them off, they cannot make phone calls for 3 days. I did not sleep until I got her call and she told me she was OK and that she liked it there. She was in a large house with several other girls in her age range with similar diagnosis and trauma. The program is very structured and there is constant supervision. Personal Hygiene, self care, chores, school work, groups and individual therapy sessions are all part of a schedule. They are rewarded for good behavior and there is a Phase system they have to earn moving up to gain more privileges. They go on weekly outings if everyone is good. 3 meals and 3 snacks a day - mainly home cooked, with one meal they vote on per week to dine out. They were all very well taken care of, safe and most of all able to focus on themselves and getting help without outside pressure and stress overwhelming them. Sunday visitations with family and a group for family and the girls. If they are on Phase 2 they can go out with family for a few hours. This program was amazing for my child and my family in taking the next step to get the right coping education necessary for anyone in all stages of their lives. She has also made lifelong friends. A special thank you to all of those who make this such a special place and connect with these girls and support them in doing the next best thing for themselves so they can work through whatever their troubles may be.
I am happy to hear that their current director has left the company. She was ineffective, and treated staff poorly. There was a mass exodus of staff in December directly due to poor treatment by the director and the therapist who acted like a director! I would not recommend sending vulnerable youth there until they can get it together.
This place was horrible. The staff verbally and mentally abused me, especially one of the therapist and ray (if she still even works there). They force you to eat 3 meals a day which is normal, except for the fact that they make you eat 2 to 3 sides with it, as well as 3 snack times a day. I, and other patients gained a TON of weight here. Now I’m left with nothing other than a bunch of extra pounds, and an undeniable trauma, considering how rude the girls were there. One of my friends I kept in touch with after discovery, sadly committed suicide due to the horrible bullying there. Not to mention the fact that the girls here used to cut themselves with canned food lids because of how much they hated it there. Relentless bullying and traumatic experience overall. DO NOT send your kids here.
It’s too soon to tell if this program was helpful, my child’s discharge was recent. However, if you are a parent who wants decent communication between yourself and the facility you won’t find it with their Dade City campus. I wasn’t asking for every little detail. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable. I wasn’t notified with major changes/issues with meds and I wasn’t notified about suicide attempts. Responses were a joke.
TRAUMATIZING!! never send your child here!!
Daughter was brought here to help with her mental health. She has had a hard time with puberty due to being on the spectrum (has autism). The counselors suggested that she have a breast reduction (which she would not qualify for anyways) instead of exploring the reasoning behind wanting that and being encouraging to love herself for who she is not what she thinks she is at this time. Children are never born wrong. There are only 2 sexes, 2 genders, and 1000’s of personalities. If you want to help your child do not bring them here because they will further confuse them and not speak with you as a parent and keep your values.
I had a mid experience here staff are super nice and always try to fix any issues fast and the best to their ability the food is really good I love tekishi cooking ( sorry if I spelled her name wrong) having a big spacious bedrooms and bathrooms were nice. everyday we had groups and tried getting out of the house. Groups were kinda boring and never really helped half the time staff would try to work with us and cut groups to 30 minutes because nobody would want to participate. we had some crazy nights and those were super stressful but staff did everything 2 deescalate the situation. It is a residential so you can’t expect your child to go here without having maybe 1-2 bad days. the whole thing with “bad communication” isn’t staff fault. When you’re new you’re on something called “pre phase ” so you cannot make phone calls for at least 3 days so 72 hours after that everybody gets the chance to make a phone call to the people on their approved phone call list that guardians and therapist have to approve. If you’re child chooses not to call their parents or guardians is their lawful right and Alex is only one person and she can’t return calls as fast as some people would like she has to see a whole lot of kids and her days are booked. Lynn and mariann do exist and their amazing people. yes sometimes they have to make “uncalled for” discharges but sometimes those calls have to be enforced for the stafey of your child, staff and the other residents. don’t worry about getting permission because you will be filled in once they’ve gotten your child to the proper authorities. This place isn’t the most therapeutic place ever and you don’t really get much out of the therapy part but I think I’ve learned a whole lot from talking to staff and some peers. I’ve learned how to control my anger not blow up when I thought I was the only person who was right. I’ve seen and heard something’s I only could imagine reading in a horror book but now looking back on it… I’m calmer, I have a great relationship with my parents, my anxiety is better at school and I’m a healthier person in general who can go full 24 hours without having a mental break down. if you’re looking for a short term solution to anger, anxiety or any drug/substance problems this may be your best bet. shoutout to Lilly, mel, mariann, Alex, Leslie, ice spice/Evelyn, Takirah and Clair grace for everything you’ve done for me I actually couldn’t imagine what my life at home could be without your support I thought coming home was gonna be a disaster but you sitting down with me and processing any thing I was worried about that day and giving me such great advice means so much because you were always so patient and straight forward with me and that’s exactly what I needed somebody to tell me the truth and tell me how it was. sorry for any bad spelling or grammar ps MWB 🫶🏼 btw the 4th was good everything was dismissed.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
