I was very impressed by his very thorough interview. Very old school. However, he is booking for colonoscopy two months out. I went with a newly-minted board certified doctor, just fresh from his fellowship. He was available in 2 weeks.

My primary doctor referred me to doc Ascunce,since I was tested positive for HPolyri,but instead I was assigned someone by the name of Shahab Omer(I think he was a training doctor)he went through my chart and we discussed my med history,at the end he prescribed a medecine that has a terrible side effects (lots of vomiting),after one month I tested again for HPolyri and was still positive,I called the office asking if this Shahab Omer can send me a medecine to treat my HPolyri,and this so called doctor said I should reach out to my primary doctor,since she was the one who wrote the order for my HPOLYRI. So my advice is if you come to this facility,refuse to see this doctor if he was assigned to check you,Not Recommended. I think he needs few more years to learn about being gastroenterologist!!!!!!

I was very impressed with Dr. Ascunce. He asks questions about the patient's health and takes notes. He explains tests and procedures. He makes suggestions. He is always polite and seems genuinely interested in his patients. I think he is an exemplary doctor.

This man is the real McCoy, one of the best doctors I have ever seen. He is thorough, takes a complete history, does a complete physical, takes copious notes, and remembers you from visit to visit. He is interested in his patients, and is friendly and respectful in his interactions with them. He is communicative, and after seeing him, all of your questions are answered. His colonoscopies and endoscopies are performed well. He personally meets with you after the procedure to explain the results. I highly recommend him and am thankful that I found him many years ago.

Our family have seen Dr. Ascunce for over 30 years. He has always been very thorough, attentive and knowledgeable. Years ago, after seeing various doctors for months, we went to Dr. Ascunce, he ordered the right tests and he was the one to figured out the issue immediately and provide the correct treatment. He takes the time to communicate and explain things. He always returns our calls promptly and personally when there is the need. We can tell Dr. Ascunce loves what he does and he is very professional. The office staff is always courteous, patient and very professional.

Dr. Ascunce is very thorough. He even noticed things which are not part of his field (like a lump on my neck) that my former GP missed. His office answers calls quickly and are very kind. He is extremely thorough in colonoscopy prep. You will know 100% that he will see everything. I never have any issues after the procedure. He is the best!

Wonderful kind doctor, not over zealous with medications. Listens to the patients.

Wait time was horrible. Came in at 11.30. Got my vitals checked an hour later and was left sitting in the room for another 20 minutes. No respect for patients time at all.

Dr Ascunce is great! He performed my 1st (and only) colonoscopy in late 2019 and it was a really easy experience. The office is lovely, very natural, not cold like most others. It even smells nice!Dr. Ascunce took his time with me, very friendly and good sense of humor. He really put me at ease. The staff is friendly and efficient, very short wait to see the doctor. I understand that some patients might take more time than others. That's natural, we all like to have time to ask questions and not feel rushed. Very little paperwork, no portals to register on, what a relief to not rely on the internet to schedule, set appointments and get test results. The pre-test 'fast' was the best I've heard of, and definitely improved my well-being. It was a 5-day, so I wasn't (ahem) in the bathroom for hours like the majority of my friends reported after 24-hour fasts. It was difficult to give up fruits, nuts and seeds at first, a staple of my diet, but I was never starving and felt great after. It's a cleanse! He went over the test results with me after the procedure, no follow up needed (phew!).I absolutely recommend Dr. Ascunce and his staff at VHC. I hope they are still in practice in 5 years!
