Jennifer R Santiago Md's Online Review Report Card

My issue isn't necessarily with doctor Santiago but with the entire OBGYNNova practice. Here are just some examples of the things I dealt with:1. I was once booked for an 8am ultrasound. I ended up dropping my daughter off at daycare early so I could make it to an appointment that early. I was not seen by the tech until 9:15am and the first thing she said when I walked in to her exam room is "I don't even start until 9am and have no idea why anyone would book you with me at 8am." 2. I called the nurse to ask about a subchronic hemorrhage that was found in an early ultrasound because Dr. Santiago was on vacation. Left a voicemail. Never heard back. Left a message with the front office who said they would put a post it on the nurse's desk and tell her to call me. Never heard back.3. I did genetic testing and my results were never posted to the portal. I had to call to ask for the results over the phone. To this day, the results still haven't been posted to the portal.3. I took my glucose test and was told I would have the results uploaded to the portal within 48 hours. To this day, the results still have not been posted to the portal. I actually had to call 6 times to ask for my results before anyone would give them to me over the phone.4. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, which means you need to check your blood sugar 4 times a day. I called the office to request a prescription for the monitor and was told I needed to speak to the nurse. I called the nurse. No answer. Left a voicemail. Never heard back. Followed up a few days later and the nurse finally picked up. I told her the exact name of the glucose monitor my insurance would cover. Two weeks later, I still didn't have a prescription for the monitor. I emailed the doctor on the portal. Never heard back. Called the front office and was told "some doctors are slower to respond on the portal than others. After a month of basically begging them for a glucose monitor, I gave up and transferred doctors and to has been the BEST decision I have ever made.I would never recommend this place to anyone. Extremely unresponsive.

I have been seeing Dr. Santiago for years and love her! She always listens, is easy to discuss issues with, and is agreeable to diagnostic exams to be sure things are not going on. I am DEVESTATED that she will be leaving the practice due to their restructuring!!! You can bet I will 1000% hunt down where she goes and see her at her new practice!

My appointment with the doctor was rushed and she seemed distracted. My visit stemmed from a potentially urgent medical situation that required blood work. The doctor explained the possible outcomes of my symptoms in a perfunctory, impersonal, and distracted manner. She completely failed to follow up with me when my lab results became available, but rather, delegated that duty to her nurse. I have tremendous respect for nurses and the work they do and oftentimes find they are better equipped to interact with patients. Nevertheless, the test results were rather important, but not quite important for Dr. Santiago to take time out of her obviously busy day to communicate the test results and answer related questions. I have had GPs call to inform me of less important test results. Hopefully, she will exercise better judgment and professionalism in the future.

Very competent Doctor. She helped me throughout my whole pregnancy. I had appts with the other doctors in the same office as well, but she was the one who helped me with every need. She prescribed meds for PPD at the right time, even though I saw a different obstetrician the week before who didn’t think I was ready to be take the pills. I could of been in an accident if I didn’t receive them on time. I was also lucky enough for her to be the one who delivered my baby girl. I highly recommend her.

I am very happy with my overall experience with Dr. Jennifer Santiago. She takes the time to listen to your concerns in a very comforting manner. As well she is knowledgeable and helpful. Since I have moved here 4 years ago, I have not found many physicians in North Virginia that I have such confidence in.

Dr. Santiago is fantastic! She is very knowledgeable, extremely compassionate, and always makes for me comfortable and assured. She always surprises me with how she remembers the details of my life (not just the medical conditions) every time I see her. She is always my first go to.

Stay away from this Obgyn and this practice as fast as you can! I'm a primigravida patient and was supposed to have my prenatal free cell testing on the 10th week of my pregnancy but it was magically "canceled" and I was told that I was the one who canceled it. Instead of rectifying the situation, I got blamed for the canceled test. So I was ready to move on to the 14 week nuchal translucency test as I already missed the 10week free cell test. But lo and behold, I was told that because of my age, nuchal translucency test for the fetus is not required and was instead told to wait for the 20 week anatomy scan!!!Dr. Santiago and her practice deals with a lot of patients so if you're not diligent enough to know what tests should be done at a specific time in your pregnancy, you will be treated carelessly. What's the point of going to the doctor of you have to be the one to tell her what tests should be done, right? And only to be told that you don't need these tests?!?!? I was having spotting too in the first trimester and during one of my ultrasound appointments, the technician told her but she didn't even bother to look at the subchorionic bleeding that was caught in the sonogram. Overall, I find her imcompetent. Either that or she's too busy to care. She also has this indifferent demeanor and this is not the type of care a first time pregnant woman like me would like to have.

Dr.Santiago is the best gyno I've ever had. I move around due to my spouse being military and it's so hard to find good doctors all the time. I'm so glad I found her she is sweet, listens to you and makes you feel extremely comfortable. Highly recommend!

Dr Jennifer Santiago is absolutely wonderful. She is very professional and kind. She is very willing to answer any questions you may have. I have been a patient for a couple of years and could not imagine going anywhere else. Her staff is very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Jennifer Santiago is a professional and caring physician who pays attention to your medical needs. She is personable in a way that she had good office manners and gives you her undivided attention and she is easy to talk with during an office visit. I am happy that she is my physician.
