List of Jiyeon E. Shin's Reviews
Extremely poorly run practice. Very sketchy billing. Coded my annual exam improperly according to my insurance policy. When asked by the insurance company to correct the incorrect coding, the billing department ignored the request. Charged me $250 and threatened me with a collection agency for a service that is covered 100% by my policy. Wrote to the chief medical officer regarding the incorrect coding and inappropriate charge and heard nothing back. Will look for another primary care practice that is run with honest billing practices and better communication skills. One star is for the nurse practitioner who was excellent and maybe unaware of the what’s happening in the billing department.
I recently when to the practice for an annual physical. They drew blood but did not post me on the results for a while. When I enquired, I was told the following:"Computer has deleted the orders of the tests. Unfortunately can you please return to lab fasting to redraw these?"I'll just leave that here for potential patients to make their own conclusions on the competence of the practice.
I like my doctor but the practice is not managed well. It is impossible to schedule an appointment. Also if you are experiencing anything they deem covid symptoms they will not see you. They tell you to go to the ER or Urgent Care. Not really acceptable for a primary care physicians group.
Although I explained to a receptionist that I had not receive invasive care through my previous hmo she said she vhc would not accept me as a patient until a nurse reviewed my history. And they do not perform consultations with specialist.
The NP refused to see my sick daughter, even with 2 negative Covid tests. Was told to "go to urgent care", as they don't see their own patients in the office if "they are sick" for a strep test and influenza test. No urgent care appointments x 36 hours.
BEWARE: Questionable Billing Ethics!I went in for an annual physical and was charged for it as well as an office charge because I mentioned I was having stomach issues (something they later told me is not covered in preventative care). The provider gave me a referral to a gastroenterologist in which I did not ask for and that was the excuse used to double charge me. I ended up having to pay for an additional office visit when I was only seen by the provider for less than 15 minutes. I was under the assumption that this was just for a physical. If they offer to give you a referral I would make sure they are not trying to scam you into billing your insurance for an additional office visit.I would not recommend this practice. They are unethical and looking to make a buck wherever they can! STAY AWAY!Aside from the above billing scam, the providers are rushy and do not listen to your issues. They want you in and out as fast as possible.Zero stars if I could!
I've had a google account since Google first started, many years ago. Google has undergone numerous revisions and update since.IN SO DOING "GOOGLE" HAS SOMEHOW LOST TRACT OF MY ORIGINAL, AND ONLY, WORKING EMAIL..PLEASE UPDATE AND STRAIGHTEN OUT ITS RECORDES AS WELL AS MINE.
They do not answer the phones and when they do they can't help you, their web site is not user friendly, their APP is not reliable. They do not send you reminders about your upcoming exams or follow-up on tests. horrible customer service!!
The appointment scheduler lady is very rude. I was trying to book an appointment and asked for the available times. I heard her sigh very loudly after my question and in general she was unprofessional.
I've read all the negative comments and I agree with them, but I wouldn't be so harsh. I think she really cares about her patients and tries to be kind and respectful, but she doesn't seem to understand how deeply sensitive and vulnerable some people can be about certain topics and said things to me that completely devestated me, but I understood she was trying to help and just didn't get it. I desperately want to have children, but not by myself, and at the time of my first visit I was thinking about getting my eggs frozen, which I have since done through Shady Grove. She told me every discouraging thing she could about my chances (including immediately pointing out that I needed to lose weight - Nice to meet you too!) and she did it several times over multiple visits and even told me that the eggs might not work out after I got them frozen so I wouldn't get my hopes up. She also gave me what seemed at the time like devastating news about my hormone levels abruptly over the phone while I was at work and I had to go sit and the bathroom and cry. At that time in my life I was hanging on by a thread, crying everyday because I have no control over my age or the fact that I can't find an even remotely suitable partner to have children with or the fact that I am not equipped with the type of personality or life-circumstances to do it alone, but giving up my hope of having a baby feels like death to me, so everytime she pushed me to give up hope so that I wouldn't be disappointed if it didn't work out, what she was actually doing was pushing me closer and closer to wanting to give up on life and die. Again, I am sure she had no idea what her words were doing to me and she really cared and thought she was helping, but she really, really was not. Any woman in her late 30s who comes to an OBGYN to talk to them about having children already knows that the odds are against her, she has already heard every negative thing she possibly could about her statistical ability to concieve and have a healthy child. No one needs to explain that to her!! But everyone is different and the popular science that everyone spouts is exaggerated, cruel, and horrible and doesn't acknowledge that a lot of women are perfectly capable of having healthy children later in life. My test results and genetic history are very encouraging and I just desperatly needed someone to point that out and please help me not to give up hope. I had to find someone else to do that for me and undo that low-grade trauma she inadvertently caused. She's a tough love person. Tough love people are good for each other, but not for others. So if you're a tough love kind of person, you'll connect with her and she'll be a good fit for you, but if you are a highly sensitive person, she's not for you.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
