Dr Garrett was friendly, disarming and confidence-inspiring as my 78 year-old father prepared for a triple bypass with valve replacement surgery following a massive heart attack. His outcome was excellent - now several months later he's doing very well. Dr Garrett and his amazing team made that happen.

Dr. John Garett performed an open heart surgery for my dad and he did an amazing job. He grafted one artery and one vein to his heart. This is a very complicated surgery and it took about 6 hours. My dad is doing really well now. He saved my dad’s life. I really think He is an angel. He has more than 30 years of experience. He is an expert and knows what he is doing. Trust me on this. If you or your loved ones have to do this surgery don’t go to anyone else but him. Once you meet him you will see for yourself. He will save your life and buy more time for you in this world. Him and his team are just simply amazing and how much good i say about them is not enough.

Dr. Garrett performed a Bentall procedure on me and did and excellent job. The nursing staff at the cardiac surgery unit are amazing. The patient to caregiver ratio on this unit is excellent and nurses actually do check patients every hour, 24 hours a day. Guests and family are welcome to visit patients and there are couches for visitor in patient rooms.

Has to be the best in his profession After suffering a stroke ... Being diagnosed with advanced coronary problems to include heart and vessels into. Brain & being sent home with nitro and absolutely no plans for any further solutions from others . He took a very proactive and immediate course a day or two after my consult for a Coratid surgery& performed a triple bypass . Surely saving my life . Furthermore ...in my case beautifully done and pain free without meds or complications . Wonderful

If you want a surgeon that will make time for you both pre and post-operatively, this is not the doctor for you. He doesn't make time for you to explain your surgery and answer your questions and relies on his staff to handle all patient interaction, which they are not very good at either. My advice, find another surgeon elsewhere unless you want to be left in the dark about everything.

The worst possible. He runs the hospital and heard he pays himself a million dollars a year but has no time for his patients

Dr. Garrett is the best doctor ever!!! He is an amazing surgeon and has such a great bedside manner. He saved my 67 year old mother and took the BEST care of her. He always kept us informed of what was going on . His partner Dr. Rhee is also amazing and so is the rest of the team at Virginia Hospital Center. I just can't say enough about how thankful we are for everything he and his team has done for our family.!! If I could give more than 5 stars I would !!

He and his staff clearly work closely and colaboratively to achieve best results. Uncommon to find a human personality that cares about patients inspite of standard surgeon ego; this guy is easy to get along with.

He's a hack. Dangerous, insanely egotistical & over-educated incompetent. His staff is terrified of him Real god-complex. Run don't walk from Dr. Moreau. Trust me: he'll gut you like a fish.
