Dr. Gurian saved my hearing. I am deeply indebted to him. I had a wicked ear infection that ravaged my eardrum, and he worked with me for months to get rid of the infection. Recently, he did a tympanoplasty to reconstruct my ear drum. Two weeks later, and I can hear. A miracle! I would recommend him to anyone with complicated ENT problems.

Dr. Gurian saved my hearing, and I am eternally grateful to him. He worked with me for months to get my infected ear healthy enough to have surgery to fix my eardrum, and the surgery was success. I guess I can kind of get why people think Dr. Gurian is a bit standoffish, but honestly, who's looking for their best friend at the doctor? I just wanted someone to help me. And he did, he was professional, straightforward and actually very kind. I would highly recommend him.

The poor reviews do not jive with my experience. I saw Dr. Gurian first as a follow up to an ER visit. He was kind, informative and thorough. My husband and I liked him enough to decide to change ENTs so now he is our regular. I've seen him 2 more times since then, never had to wait long and always felt that he was listening and giving cogent answers to my questions.

A very rushed and unfriendly experience. Gurian needs to work on his “bedside manner”. The front desk doesn’t take direct calls, you have to call through a 3rd party answering service-very frustrating. I will never go here again.

This was my first time seeing this doctor. He shamed me for not getting the Covid vaccine and compared it to wearing a seatbelt. I did not appreciate this as I was seeing him for a completely different issue not covid advice.

Stephanie Song, MSN-FNP-BC, who is in Dr. Gurian's practice, has given me outstanding care for nose bleeds. She also explained why I have symptoms which have plagued me every spring for years. Now I understand why my allergy tests were always negative. My nasal passages are inflamed by spring pollens and not by allergies. I should have discussed the symptoms with my ENT specialist before seeking unnecessary medical help. Now I can relax while I live with the normal irritation some people suffer during springtime.

I had a positive experience with Dr. Gurian and wanted to post this review for others who may feel hesitant about going to him because of the negative reviews. First, I was able to get in to see him on a reasonable timeline (many ENTs are booked months out, which would be miserable for ear pain). The office staff were efficient and professional. Dr. Gurian is a straightforward communicator. We didn't exchange many pleasantries, but that's not what I need from my doctor. I value a doctor who is knowledgeable, explains the diagnosis and treatment well, and resolves my issue, all of which describe my experience with Dr. Gurian.

Dr. Gurian is an awful ENT. For being an experienced doctor, he is certainly VERY dismissive. I went to him saying I had a hoarse throat for a month. He quickly looked at my throat with a mirror and said “just a little red. Laryngitis.” He also totally misunderstood me and said “It’s only been there a few days. May take a few months. Voice rest.” I corrected him and said “NO! It’s been there a MONTH. Shouldn’t it go away?” He just said will take time. A week later I went for a second opinion to Dr. Sarah Blank at Fairfax ENT. Keep in mind she is MUCH younger than Dr. Gurian. She immediately did a laryngoscopy and said I had Laryngeal Reflux or LPR. She put me on meds, and told me to completely alter my diet, and gave me more remedies. My voice was back in two weeks. If I had just waited as Dr. Gurian has said, I would have continued with a hoarse voice for God knows how long. As someone who needs my voice for my work, I am so disappointed with this Doctor. Don’t go or go for a second opinion after!!!
