Spinal surgery was very successful, and interfacing with Dr. Nayak and his staff was always a pleasure.

After visiting an orthopedic surgeon who could not help alleviate my nerve pain, I sought a neurosurgeon for help. My primary care provider recommended Dr Nyack who was able to see me the next day. It was amazing to have that level of care given to someone who is in extreme pain and in two days time would be admitted into the hospital for pain management. Because of that admission, Dr Nyack was able to schedule a surgery within 3 days of my first visit and within 2 days of being admitted into the hospital. The surgery was nothing short of a miracle, alleviating all my pain. Recovery was easy, even with two toddlers in tow, and my scar has healed nicely in the three months post surgery. I highly recommend Dr Nyack and his practice. I've been well taken care of. The practice has been extremely responsive to all questions and scheduling appointments has been easy. I wasn't able to research surgeons as much as I would have liked, but I think I would have settled on Dr Nyack anyway.

Dr. Nayak is a complete GODSEND - he literally saved my life! When other doctors/physicians dismissed my ongoing excruciating pain, Dr. Nayak was able to diagnose my condition and set up a plan that made more than perfect sense. I was admitted the same day, was able to be monitored overnight and be provided pain management, and had the surgery scheduled the following day - I am now pain-free, and I just can't thank Dr. Nayak enough! The front staff as well as the assistants/nurses are all so friendly, kind, and welcoming - I was also able to be squeezed in for an appointment, which really never happens with a specialist; the amount of compassion and empathy that this office has is amazing. All my follow-ups have been wonderful, and the office is very responsive in answering any questions/concerns. and/or providing refills on medication(s). If you're looking for a neurosurgeon, there is only one doctor you should be trying to get an appointment with, and that's Dr. Nayak. If it were not for God and the world's best neurosurgeon, Dr. Nayak, I don't know what I would have done! I arrived at the ER via ambulance due to being in excruciating back pain. I didn't know what to expect & that's scary when you're hurting so bad, but Dr. Nayak, his NP, & PA-C put my mind at ease !! They were very patient, answered all my questions, & gave me many options. Dr. Nayak explained every single thing to me and put my mind at ease from surgery to recovery. He was very attentive, concerned, patient & his ENTIRE staff is awesome!!! I would rate Dr. Nayak with ten stars if I could. He fixed a chronic problem and I can move about freely. No lingering pain following procedure.

I was diagnosed early this year with Spinal Stenosis of the lumbar area. Nothing alleviated or helped my excruciating pain from my right hip down to my right foot (meds, shots and PT did not help at all). After seeing two surgeons who suggested lumbar fusions, and not knowing which way to turn, I met Dr. Nayak. He thought he could operate on me avoiding the 2 or 3 disc lumbar fusions and though there was no guarantee that a unilateral decompression procedure would work, there was 80% probability of its success. He performed the outpatient surgery a few weeks ago and I have been pain free since. Dr. Nayak is very conservative and caring in his approach. His reviews and credentials are outstanding. The NPs, Medical Assistants and office staff are very professional, knowledgeable and caring. I would highly recommend Dr. Nayak.

In May 2021, I had a cyst press on my spine at the T2-T3 level. Within 10 days I went from walking OK to dragging my right leg. When I went to the ER, all doctors were focusing on the lumbar region. When I saw Dr. Nayak and he did a quick exam, he said Nope it is your T1. After an MRI of the Thoracic it was determined T2-T3. Missed by one level...!!! He scheduled emergency surgery the next week and had me walking again, almost immediately. To top it off, he called me from his vacation to tell me when he gets back we need to do this surgery asap. On his vacation calling a new patient to talk about my issue!!! Meant the world to me. I can't recommend him enough. Thank you Dr. Nyack! I was referred to Dr. Nayak after an E.R. visit diagnosed a cancerous tumor in my brain that had spread from a lung. The referring physician called Dr. Nayak "an excellent surgeon with excellent judgment." How right he was. Dr. Nayak is also a strong patient educator - sharing medical information in an understandable way, providing options, listening carefully and being decisive. His post-surgical follow-through was warm and thorough, and both his hospital and office teams are top-notch. He coordinated closely with my other doctors at a high level, keeping me informed the whole way. If you need to put your life in the hands of an outstanding surgeon and a good person, Dr. Nikhil Nayak should be at the top of your list.
