Dr. Mitchell has been my doctor for about 2 years now. I have to see her every 3 months for a prescription refill, so I see her more frequently than most people see their doctors. The first time I saw her, my records hadn't arrived at iNova from my previous doctor, so it was difficult to get my prescription. She was friendly about it, but insisted that she could not write my prescription without seeing that I had been prescribed it in the past. Fortunately, after a few days, my records arrived and I was notified that I could come pick up the prescriptions. Since then, every time I see her, it is easy. She is friendly but doesn't waste time with too much small talk... which is a good thing. If you are going to the doctor to have someone listen to your sad story about how your back hurts, then get mad at them because they don't "adjust" your back like a chiropractor, but actually give you stretches for you to do on your own to strengthen your muscles (like any actual doctor would do), then Dr. Mitchell is not for you. If you are the type of person who is going to tell a doctor how to do their job, then expect them not to get frustrated with you, then you likely have psychotic delusions and should seek a neurological specialist. Think about it, if someone with no experience in your line of expertise kept telling you how to do your job, you would probably be annoyed as well... Anyway, back from blasting the other reviewer... the only thing that keeps her from getting 5 stars in my opinion is the fact that she is always booked up weeks in advance... But that says a few things about her; 1. She is VERY busy. a. Because she is VERY good at what she does. b. Because she is friendly. 2. Everyone wants Dr. Mitchell as their doctor. a. Because she is VERY good at what she does. b. Because she is friendly. c. Because she knows what procedures are required, and doesn't feel the need to put people through unnecessary expensive tests when they aren't required. To reiterate: Dr. Mitchell IS NOT a chiropractor, but an actual doctor. If you want a chiropractor, go find one... they will do permanent damage to your joints for a fraction of the price of a doctor, and they will probably enjoy listening to you complain about your life (plus it might open up Dr. Mitchell's schedule for patients like me). All in all, Dr. Mitchell is worth waiting for an appointment. Hopefully, her schedule opens up and I don't have to book future appointments 3 weeks in advance anymore.

She is very thorough, professionally, and friendly attitude. Good searching question and a pleasant manner.

I used Dr. Mitchell for osteopathic adjustments twice and once as an OBGYN. The first time I met her for the osteopathy services, she was very friendly and let me know that I could also use her as my primary care doctor and OBGYN, which sounded great to me. I was a little disappointed that she did not do much in the way of cracking my back the way I've had osteopaths and chiropractors do in the past -- she mostly worked on stretches with me instead. I didn't feel like I'd gotten a real adjustment coming out of the appointment, but she was very nice and seemed certain that the stretches were what I needed. I had to return for another adjustment just a few weeks later, and asked for a referral to get an MRI -- I've been dealing with back pain for several years and thought I should be getting an inside look to see if there's something wrong that none of the doctors have picked up on yet. She was less friendly on that visit, and still just did stretches with me. Let me tell you -- those stretches cost me A LOT OF MONEY. They billed my insurance for two separate things and I ended up with about a $300 bill each time -- which I was not expecting. The third and final time I saw Dr. Mitchell, I went for an OBGYN visit and she was less friendly this time. Every time I've done an OBGYN visit, they've automatically done a pap smear. I did hear from a few friends that the "rules have changed" and now you only need a pap smear every 3 years, however I previously had cervical cancer and had to undergo the LEEP procedure to have it removed. The doctor who performed my LEEP said I need to have the pap smear annually for the rest of my life, regardless of what any other doctors say, and I'm looking out for my best interest here, so I would agree. I told Dr. Mitchell this, and she asked if my last pap smear came back normal. I said yes. She said ok then you don't need another pap smear for another 2 years. I asked her to please do a pap smear anyway. She did the pap smear. She did not do a breast exam, which my previous OBGYN's have always done the breast exam. She said it's pointless -- most breast cancer is caught by doing self exams. Perhaps my previous OBGYN was simply one of the better, more caring doctors, but I felt like Dr. Mitchell was not concerned for my health. I will not be going back for any services in the future.

condescending, laughs inappropriately. Can only assume it is nervous laughter, but comes across as very rude. Even the interns appear embarrassed by it. Last 2 visits, she questioned me as though she didn't believe my symptoms, which were later confirmed through tests @ another doc. She wanted to focus an a minor, unrelated condition that I've had for years which has never been a problem or concern to any previous doctor or myself. She repeatedly said it wasn't normal, laughed...Never going back
