List of Mark Shasti's Reviews
Dr. Shasti is one of the best doctors I have ever met. His bedside manner is amazing, he explains everything to you so you can understand what he’s talking about. His surgical skills are superior and go above and beyond as a surgeon. I’d recommend him to anyone needing care in his specialty.
I had 3 back surgeries before I met Dr. SHASKI. The surgery he did was extensive and will take months to recover, but I feel that it is finally fixed. I would refer him to anyone with back issues.
I came to Dr. Shasti after having two back surgeries at a different doc and they still didn’t fix my issues. My first visit with Shasti and he knew what I needed to fix my issue. Had my surgery and feel 100% better!
Discriminates his own patients. This is an evil doctor who needs mental help treatment. He is bald with glasses and his staff is very ugly and mean.
HE REALLY KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING!!! Before considering the surgery, I read hundreds and hundreds reviews about Dr. Shasti. The reviews described of him performing a miracle, taking patients off of pain medications; and changing families lives. I was still very skeptical scheduling my first appointment, believing he is capable to fix me after multiple unsuccessful surgeries and the tragic triathlon bike crash. Reading a very touching story about a girl (professional horse rider) written by her mother who was fixed by Dr. Shasti, prompted me make an appointment. Nervously sitting in the room, I had all my images and the previous surgeries history ready to discussed with Dr. Shasti. Mark (as he later liked me to call him) walked into the room.... He smiled at me and said: "Oh, here you are. I know everything about you and everything that is wrong with you. Please, please trust me... I will fix you and you will be like NEW". I looked at him and at that moment something inside made me believe this doctor knows what he is talking about. (We had additional discussions, images, and prep for the surgery). My point:.... I am now two month post-op and running up to 6 miles, biking up to 60-70 miles and swimming after being the "couch potato" for 7 years, not able to go one flight of stairs, and was taking up to 9 different pain killers. I am back training for my "come back" 5k on Nov 1 and want to dedicate it to Dr. Shasti. My dream is to do Half-Iron Man same time October of next year and dedicate it to Dr. Mark Shasti and ALL his surgical stuff (especially Ashley, who spend countless hours with me). Being fully bionic now, I don't regret countless hours I spent reading the reviews of Dr. Shasti's patient's and say THANK YOU! Someone had a great saying in one of the reviews: "Dr.Shasti doesn't treat you just as a number". He takes a personal ownership and the responsibility for each patient from the first time he sees the patient, performing the surgery, post-op follow ups, and the successful recovery, always available to answer any questions. That is a TRUE dedication and I hope it gets recognize at the highest level.
Dr. Shasti was recommended to me by my aunt and a friend. Dr. Shasti was great, he answered all my questions and explained everything very well. He has great bedside manners, which is very important to me. He made himself available to me for any follow up questions I had. 100% would recommend him to friends and family and would go to him again if the need arises.
Do not hesitate to be treated by Dr. Mark Shasti and his amazing staff! From our first introduction and consult I felt safe, heard, comfortable, and most importantly I was not treated like a number. Aside from his impeccable, competent, and progressive surgical skill level, his bedside manner and compassion shine through in every aspect of his patient care. His office staff are kind and knowledgeable, responsive, and relate to you as a real person. Dr. Shasti checked in on me throughout my recovery , made sure I had everything I needed to be successful in healing, and is the reason this RN of 28 years can continue to take care of others! Thank you Dr. Shasti, you have improved my life and livelihood!
Dr. Mark Shasti performed a bi-level cervical disc replacement and nerve root decompression. Dr. Shasti took the time to explain everything, and it all went smooth- diagnosis at his Inova practice, MRI, pre-op workups at Invoa hospital (staffed with OR nurses- they are really good), and the actual surgery at Inova. Dr. Shasti's excellent work has made recovery easy- discharged same-day, up as usual the next day, minimal pain medications, back at work in a few days, closure healed cleanly, and feeling normal in a few weeks with simple stretching. Dr. Shasti himself has been a pleasure throughout the process, and his Inova teams- in his practice, pre-op, and at the hospital, are efficient, pleasant, and made the whole experience easy. He takes pride in his work and I feel it every day when I wake up pain-free. Dr. Shasti was recommended to me by multiple medical professionals and patients as the best spine surgeon there is, and I recommend him to others without reservation.
Dr. Shasti is a kind and compassionate professional. He spends as much time with you as you need. He offered options and suggestions which were very helpful. His office staff is very knowledgeable and makes sure all questions were answered. Very happy with this exceptional office!
I was refered to Dr. Mark Shasti by another doctor I trust and respect. The first and second visits I thought Dr. Shasti was conservative and understood my pain. Whene we got the results of the MRI it was obvious that surgery was denfinitive. Dr. Shasti told me if I quit smoking he would fix me to 100%! That was May 15, 2022 My first post-op appointment was on June 8, 2022. I waited 2 hours, no one ...

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
